CAO Arcana Firewalker
Firewalker refers to the process of using volcanic soil to ferment the filler tobacco used for this blend! The chicangre method calls for tobacco to be placed into pilónes like usual, but then buried for 2 months in volcanic soil for the first fermentation. Only 5,000 boxes were released

These mortal coil was the first in the arcana series. Since it is a similar fermentation process to the Amazon basin series that’s how I would describe that one. I’ll probably pick up some of them eventually.
PECCADILLOES – “Small Sins” – Over the last 10 – 20 years, for one reason or another, many of our favorite thin or “small” ring gauge cigars, specifically 38 – 46/100ths of an inch in diameter, have vanished from the market. Sure, we enjoy the larger cigars; however, we take a step back in time, honoring tradition and applaud the highly skilled hands that deliver our most consistent smoking experiences, refined skills required to produce some classic small sizes. This opportunity is for those that don’t always demand larger and more powerful, we are returning a focus to the quality of the smoking experience over cost or image. Southern Draw Cigars has kept a secret for years. That secret being the existence of a variety of blends, each has been skillfully rolled in small ring gauges, their purest form. Withholding the existence of these for so long as we grew our brand, we have adopted a project name using the Spanish term Peccadilloes, which translates in English to “Small Sins”.
Featuring four completely different blends, please use the QR code on the bundle to send your feedback on what should make the cut and become the newest Southern Draw line.
2021 so sucked.
Spent today at NACSA reviewing outstanding production orders… and discovered something annoying.
Last year I owed my good friends at Small Batch Cigar an exclusive. I created a potent blend in a corona gorda format that I dubbed “Barba Amarilla” - I named it after an indigenous poisonous snake because it had quite a bite.
Placed the order to put it in production with the intent to ship them last fall.
But when it came time for me to check the cigars it turned out they forgot because of how backlogged we were.
The first chance to produce it was now going to be December. Sucks, but what can you do.
Anyways today I asked them to pull the December production for me to smoke and QC.
The cigars are GORGEOUS, however they were way smoother than expected. Still strong, but not the bite I remembered from when I finished the liga. Absolutely delicious, yet not what I was expecting…
So wtf?
Turns out they DID craft them last March, but forgot… but then found in December so they didn’t make a new batch as requested because… well, they did make them early last year as originally instructed.
Now “Barba Amarilla” will be delivered with a FULL YEARS AGE…
So as I sit here smoking one, I am trying to decide whether to be pissed or happy because a year has made these exquisite. But now the name doesn’t make sense… problem is the boxes and bands are about to be finished. If I rename, there will be another 6 month delay.
Ugh…
Guess they are now going to be nicknamed: Barba Amarilla Vieja
In case any blenders / manufacturers read this: want to turn me off as a customer? Brag about your "monster gordo blah blah blend".
Nearly every time I smoke anything > 52 rg I'm thinking "I wonder if the make this in a decent size? This giant is a PITA to try and get a decent smoke out of. What a waste of good tobacco."
Rant over.
