Prepped up a few more days worth of 75/25 ODF/1792 and ,just for shiggles and gits, chopped up a little 1792 Burnt Ends for the bowl tonight. A little decaf and Oreos (not pictured) on the side.

'Tis the season, y'all know the reason. Figured I'd try this in the Stanwell Gilt Edge.

ODF/1792, Peet's decaf, and Oreos. This may become a thing for the Holidays this year.

Going to Silvermouse this post, no pic, but worthy of mention.
KBV Plateau of Leng in my Stanwell rusticated Trio. Great stuff.

Same pipe, same tobacco, Peet's Holiday roast in my cup. Shoes optional. Thawing some proteins with this week in mind. Time for some Fallout 3.

Finally sitting down to a smoke. Silvermousing it tonight. Imagine, if you will, the pipe pictured in my last post. Now, imagine this pipe filled with a mix of Old Dark Fired and 1792 at a ratio of 3 to 1, and then topped with 1792 Burnt Ends that have been beaten as thoroughly as my emotional fortitude today. Welcome to my Sunday twilight smoke.

Did anyone else read that in Rod Serling’s voice?
If it don’t bother me, it don’t bother me. Just leave me alone.

Rearranged the entertainment center to make room for Ro's Christmas tree. Burnt Ends in the Rob Roy Let Freedom Ring cob that I'm likely to burn a hole through at this rate.

I received this yesterday and smoked them with no dry time in the cold, damp back yard while it was misting and raining so my prep wasn't ideal.
The RDH / RDSD was sugar sweet but you could get the good taste of the dark VA tobacco. It has a lot more tobacco flavor and Lakeland essence than Brown Sugar Flake and even seems a bit sweeter too.
The Aniseed Twist smelled great, tasted of a light black licorice, but I didn't get all that much tobacco flavor, mostly the anise. It was not overly sweet or cloying, a bit one-dimensional, but I enjoyed it. I'm curious how it would mix with 1792, Coniston Cut Plug or maybe Canon Plug.

Rich Dark Spring Dew Part Deaux in a Talbert pipe. I took the time to dry out the tobacco first, I'm getting a nice sweetness with maybe a hint of cherry notes which could be my imagination and a nice dark tobacco taste. Some rough edges.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and found the silver linings they didn't know had been there all along.

RDSD first taste. Cup of Peet's and trying out the new Surface. My old Samsung bit the dust a few weeks back. Realized that I used it to run diagnostics on the car. Aww, shucks, guess I had to get a new device. Geez, what can I do?
Edit: Spelling

Stanwell HCA, mixture of Comoy's Cask #11, McClelland's Latakia and Stoved Virginia, and a touch of Black Cathy Cavendish. I came up with this a few years ago when I was trying to recreate the Dark English. I didn't succeed, but, it's pretty good.

Enjoying a bowl of 1792 flake mixed with Aniseed Twist in my Chacom Club 168 after replacing our cooktop. The 1792 is winning the first round but the licorice is battling back. Seems like a good mix, it's helping me relax before going to a maker show with the family.
