    Gosh, I wonder why not?

In truth, Frank makes a number of good points. It makes me wonder, then, if it's not what they're learning in school, what is the source of the blatantly socialist attitude of so many young people today? Home schooling? I don't think so, but maybe. I mostly see two very different groups that home school their kids. Those who fear left wing indoctrination, and those who are too lazy to get up and get their kids off to school. Media bias? It's certainly there, but there are also a lot of far right lunatic news outlets. Not on your cable TV, of course, except FOX, but they're out there.

So, why the rising tide of Socialism? Lack of Critical Thinking skills being taught? Emphasis on accepting ideas that don't match reality? e.g. I'm told by an educator in a nearby town that they must provide a litter-box in the restroom for a child who "identifies" as a cat. So, the school at large accepts mental illness as an unavoidable condition to be tolerated and thus encourages other students to find their own niche in the world of the unstable.

Does it all rest on the parents? and if so, how'd they get that way?

Does it all rest on the parents? and if so, how'd they get that way?

Which of my comments are to the far left of center? 13 year old girls squirming under a naked 60 year old fat man? Quartering political appointees with an apolitical military? Disputing the factless indoctrination claims?

    Nevermind. It's inconsequential.

The consequential part is that there's an implication that something to the left of center should be "flagged" to the forum moderators. Isn't public discourse the thing that Saint Charlie always said was a good thing? 😂

As for the kitty litter thing, I don't believe it at all, much less in the context provided. It represents an immediate and dangerous health risk to the entire school, and nobody would do it. Not in your state especially. Not calling you a liar, Steve. I'm calling the teacher one.

Again, inconsequential. The consequential part is that people are giving firsthand accounts that are nonsensical and unbelievable. That goes back to my point of how information is no longer truthful or untruthful. Information is just out there to be weaponized without regard for the truth.

I would argue that the rising tide of far right conservatism is lapping the left movement tenfold. Righties have successfully stacked the courts by preventing a sitting president from nominating a Justice, they own both houses, and they have a chokehold on the presidency with the most far right wing person in the history of the country, going back to the first elections of 1790. What more do you want?

That's right... They appear to want silence from the left. And compliance. And women in dresses making supper. and a Bible on every nightstand and in every classroom. Oh, and no dissenting discourse.

At least, no dissenting discourse that isn't flagged 😂

Long live the sons of Jacob! Long live gillead!

The flag appeared after my comment. The comment was to point out that conservative comments are often flagged, liberal are not. Neither should be. In case anyone's wondering, if I flag you I'll tell you so. I think there's more proof, and more truth to the kitty litter thing than to the pedophile thing, but bottom line I think it's all a bunch of nonsense. I make these comments for clarity, not dissent or argument.

^^ I'm back. Sorry if the above seemed terse, I'm cooking supper right now. For any newcomers to our forum I should add that I was brought up to believe that discourse in disagreement is healthy. Before anyone gets all the wrong ideas I see this as a family, here, and who ever knew brothers that always agreed? I admire Frank and Pete's tenacity and resilience, even when they're wrong. I also respect their cigar taste and knowledge, and they're usually right in those matters.

Back atcha Steve. I happen to completely believe that the president had intercoúrse with young teenagers because I think it fits his profile. Of course I can obviously be wrong. I don't believe the kitty litter thing, other than as a demonstration/protest where the child did not poop or pee in a box and was never going to do so.

I didn't interpret your comments as terse.

Or is it in some forms of govt. folks really have no say so without taking grave chances. Then other govt. where people can make a difference yet choose to act complacently until it is too late.

Our government right there.we were complacent too long and now the socialists are deeply entrenched and they're teaching kids socialism is good.

I would love to see those lesson plans, formative and summative tests, homework assignments, class participation grades, and the resulting psychoanalysis of the children who were subjected to those lesson plans to determine how much their political leanings moved, as to judge the effectiveness of those lessons.

Oh wait, the evidence doesn't exist? That's perfect. The most compelling evidence that a conspiracy theory is true is the abject lack of evidence that a conspiracy theory is true.

Lesson plans vary among schools and school districts, and to be honest may have little to do with what is going on in the rooms. More and more schools and school districts do not rely on homework or even allow it to be part of the grade. many can to even give a grade on it. In todays world homework may show nothing of what the child/student is really doing. As far as grades the vast majority of the time a completely arbitrary. Tests are not what they were intended for. Originally tests were used to give the teacher an idea of how well they covered the material. This can be shown by state tests. Many states were shocked when they first started testing and seen how low test result came out, this has lead to many changes in the tests. Interesting article were mentioned in the Wall Street Journal over the year.

Maybe the teachers are secretly taking the kids into the bathrooms to show them their blue pubés?

In my district, the sixth (I think?) largest in the country, lesson plans must be submitted and both formative and summative tests issued. We also have no textbooks and very little homework.

Actually stated from someone with over 30 years in a classroom. Didn't even mention how the majority of schools that are union ask and collect money from teachers to donate to folks running for office. Shocking, yet I can only remember folks in 1 of the parties getting it.

The looking at kids pubes is a great distraction for weak logic.

Lesson plans in some places are incredibly detailed with times, curriculum, material, and what will take place for those that didn't get it. State standards may also be asked. Some have no lesson plans and others a simple list of items to be covered .

More and more places are not single text books.

Formative and summative test are like anything else. A person can teach to a test, but does it really help?

How did YOU indoctrinate your students?

    Hahaha just trolling

Well a very good teacher that kids loved in high school had a life size standing Obama in her room , constantly making references to his looks and how smart he was . English teachers that have students writing papers leaning on one side or the other. A college science prof that req. students to use a book he wrote that contained quotes from the bible and he constantly referring to how science proved Jesus ( not our self proclaimed Jesus troll, sorry just had to come out} was the son of God. If we can both be serious for a minute, is it that hard for someone to sway the thinking of our youth. And yes, you are 100% correct that we all have to give a crap about what we do.

Indoctrinate my student, I hope I did. After years of teaching elem. and middle I went to h.s. and that's when a new world opened. After a couple of year I was asked to take a class that they couldn't seem to keep a teacher in. Small inner city, and something needed to be done. There was a boxing gym that focused on respect and self image as much as boxing. Ran by one of my old students that made it.Myles and I were picking kids up in the hood to take them to his gym a couple nights a week. He and another man that dealt with computers as a college prof also instructed Chess is Life ( great program for everyone) and still do. So we were taking kids there and some into chess tournaments. Many ways to indoctrinate students. Seriously hope I have.

@edz the Obama thing is just silly. He WAS and IS a smart man, whether or not you agree with his politics.

I'm an English teacher and I teach argumentation. Discourse is a skill that young adults need. I let them choose their own topics (minus my banned topic list) and sides. Then I make them also argue the other side 🙈

Seriously you're right. There is no swaying of the minds. There is no indoctrination into Fringe socialistic principles. Kids think adults don't know anything. They will soon own the world and we will soon not be able to do a damn thing about it.

Every field, even science and mathematics, is chock full of opposing viewpoints, all of which should be explored. Education is the enemy of oppression, and fearing or banning topics threatens the American way of life. I'm sure the fringe on both sides would disagree with this. Fuçk the fringe.

Exposing young minds to multiple viewpoints is essential to learning and preserving freedom.

@Itsfine hows the blood pressure? All I could hear was yelling and anger??? Not the same tone of discourse you and I have had in person?? Just making sure you didn’t beat anyone or suffered a stroke!

Na @OutdoorsSmoke_21191. It wasn't yelling it was cackling. It wasn't anger, it was joy.

No complaining about emotional intelligence or self-righteousness from me!
