Why the gun grabber crowd will never win

xmacroxmacro Posts: 3,402
Well, I'm a bit drunk on some Stone Ruination IPA (yeah, I'm a hop head), so I figured I'd make a drunk post and exercise my 1st amendment rights by saying "f*ck you" to the ass who just got inaugurated since it seems the 1st A is sacred, but the 2nd A is expendable. Whatever. When they come to take your guns, just head to your local hardware store and grab a shovel.

Did they take the shovel AK? Shiiiiiiiit son, you just gotta up the ante. How 'bout an RPG-7 shotgun? You can even use Joe Biden's POS

It's versatile too; you can shoot it in the pool:

Get some street cred by shooting it ghetto style:

Say "what" one more time, motherf*cker. I dare ya. I double dare ya, say "what" one more time

From the article:

On this Thanksgiving Day, let me say this: God Bless America the only country on this **** planet where you still have the freedom to build AKs in defense of Motherland! The only country where a *** shovel can become an awesome weapon of death and destruction.

Do you love gardening, do you have a tool shed?

Please be aware that hiding in your garage, there may be dozens of Killy, high-clip-capacitated, school-penetrating, children-hating, Assault Weapons of mAss Destruction! Please send this message to all your libtard friends to make sure that they call 911 when they encounter anything that looks like a shovel. Thousands of hardware and home improvement stores are selling AKs through the "shovel" loophole to anyone!

Gotta get me some of that Stone Ruination IPA. Looks like it takes away all inhibitions. LOL. I may be persuaded to agree with you X, but I'll have to read it again. LOLOL

Stone Ruination IPA is f*cking awesome, but pair it with a Sam Adams in the shower and a single malt scotch on the patio, and posts like the above result

Better call Congress and tell them to close the assault shovel loophole. That'll make everyone safe

Again, just making a news annocment since this was a thread on gun control (jokingly or not). I was not trying to make it a political matter.

Why is it that none of the disturbed and evil men, who steal guns, then go and kill movie-goers and children in school, has ever been identified as a conservative NRA member?

Ft Hood ~~~ Registered Democrat ~ Muslim.

Columbine ~~~ Too young to vote; both families were registered Democrats and progressive liberals.

Virginia Tech ~~~ Wrote hate mail to President Bush and to his staff ~ Registered Democrat.

Colorado Theater ~~~ Registered Democrat; staff worker on the Obama campaign; Occupy Wall Street participant; progressive liberal.

Connecticut School Shooter- ~~~ Registered Democrat; hated Christians.

Common thread is that all of these shooters were progressive liberal Democrats."

    INTERESTING, isn't it ?.............

They were also young Jadelt, and the younger demographic are historically heavily more left wing than right wing so I dont know how big of a difference that is. I could make the snide argument that thanks to the right wing gun allowances is the reason they were allowed to become murderers, but I wont because I think that too is a silly argument.

Funny thing about progressives, they never learn from history.

If they manage to ban the black-evil-assault-weapons that shoot infant-skull-seeking bullets, then they'll eventually go after handguns (V-Tech shooter used handguns to kill 32 and injure 17, quite a bit more than Newtown). When that doesn't stop things, they'll go after every gun. When that doesn't stop the murders, then they'll keep going still. For a look at what the UK, a notorious gun control State does, check this out:

Think about this for a second. First it's rifles, then it's handguns, then it's cleavers, and then it's butter knives. According to the placard, the UK has had that law since 1996 - 17 years. The Left will never stop trying to ban everything and trying to institute their idea of utopia through forceful legislation

Eric Rudolph......Olympic Park Bomber (in addiiton to other killings) a right wing religious fanatic doing gods will

Michael Bray.....navy veteran and bomber 10 womens clinics and liberal advocasy groups

And as far as your facts. I dont know how the shooter in V.Tech (Cho) couldve been a registered deomcrat when he was not a U.S. citizen, but go ahead with it if you want, lol. We can all read snopes bro.

Macro, please tell me where I have ever said gunbs should be banned? Where did I say we should legislate that right away? I have said I dont think this is what the founding fathers intended, but nothing about taking guns away at all. I know you are looking to have me fit into the "liberal sterotype" but its just not true here. I am not a liberal, or a progressive, or a conservative or anything else. I am a citizen with views and opinions and feelings on different topics and solutions for problems-----I am not a generic person and do not choose to associate myself with generic terms.

You can reject the labels as much as you want; they're still applicable, and your views are overwhelmingly socially and fiscally liberal.

The fact is, the vast majority of gun crimes committed in the US are done with handguns. If your answer is to ban certain types of guns to cut down on gun crime, you can't do it without going after handguns.

Youre not wrong Beat, but I dont like to be mischaracterized either. I do not believe most of my views are liberal or anything else. As a side note I musty applaud the right wing and more recently the tea baggers for making the word "liberal" a dirty word. Its helped their cause to push everything more right, so that what center used to be is now leftist. Amazing how the public can take a simple word and allow it to be demonized for no reason.

Hey, I'm liberal on most issues, and very proud to admit it.
And liberal that I am, I do believe that the 2nd amendment was meant to codify the legitimacy of both state militias and the right of individuals to own guns. This is in spite of the fact that my grandfather was shot and killed when I was 2 by someone robbing his store. The robber had legitimately purchased his gun. My grandfather had a gun under the counter everything happened to fast for him to have time to reach for it. So much for the deterrence factor.

I think that only a very small minority of people believe that gun ownership should be banned outright. It's certainly not a central plan of the Democratic party. Bill Clinton was a hunter. The Brady Bill was the brainchild of Ronald Reagan's advisor, not some left wing Democrat. Even President Obama has explicitly and publicly affirmed Second Amendment rights. The proposals around semi-automatic weapons and cartridges (which will never ever pass, and even Obama knows this) are not about banning gun ownership but about setting limits.

If you believe that there should be no restrictions on arms ownership of any kind, then any attempt to outlaw certain kinds of weapons is an attempt to restrict your 2nd amendment rights. However, if you do believe that some of the categories above should be illegal, then I would think you have to admit that your issue is not about stripping away your 2nd Amendement rights (the basic right to own and use arms) but about proposing the define the limits of arms ownership in a way that you don't agree with. Which is a perfectly legitimate position to have. Personally, I think it's a much more rationale and persuasive argument to say, "I believe that people should be able to own semi-automatic weapons, and I'm against the government trying to limit my right to own them" than to say "I'm against the government trying to limit my right to own semi-automatic weapons because it's the first step toward gutting my 2nd Amendment rights." But all of our rights are limited in some way or another. There's no first amendment protection for religions that practice polygamy or human sacrifice or for newspapers that advocate the violent overthrow of the government or for would-be terrorists who are caught with bomb plans or fund terrorist organizations. Even the post-9/11 paranoia hasn't resulted in the suppression of the rights of white supremacists and communists to organize and freely express their vile views. The 'slippery slope' of movement to a totalitarian state has happened yet, even when America was at its paranoid worst (during the McCarthy area in the 1950s and shortly after 9/11). And considering the huge political influence of gun owners, I don't think anyone has to worry about anything more than the background checking aspects of these proposals passing through Congress. even at that.

I not a huge fan of assault rifle for my own personal use, mostly because I live in the city and the rounds tend to go through most obtacles and I don't want to be responsible for a target that is hit several yards down the road. All that aside I would like to define "machine gun" as a fully automatic weapon. A semi auto AK-47 is a replica and not a machine gun. The one thing that most people that want to ban guns haven't looked at because they don't know the street is ban will open up a big money maker for the russian mob.

Like I've said before, we can argue all day long about what the definition of an "assult weapon" is, and all the hot air and bad blood that it creates won't matter one tiny bit. The lawmakers are going to make that decision. Nothing in the world is going to change that, and I see no use wasting time on that argument/discussion.

While I agree that semi auto ak is a assault rifle. I never once mentioned assault rifle in my post other than to say I was not a huge fan. I did write on a "Machine gun." This topic does not upset me, my state laws have already been changed to the strictist in the country. Whatever the Federal Government can pass will not hold a candle to NYS as always. I just was trying to explain what a "machine gun" was. I was never trying to argue with you JGH, I do agree with some of your points and I respect that you views come from your heart and the fact you want to stop the killing. I just don't know if making laws with do anything but we can hope. The one thing I would suggest to people is to research the firearms before they react so they can be educated on what they are discussing. Basiccally you can't work for the IRS if you bad in math.
