Contest: help me put together a boffo birthday order

urbinourbino Posts: 4,517
I've got a birthday coming up, and according to reports, that means I'll get an extra 10% discount (on top of my COTMC discount) for one day. So, help me plan a big order. Currently in the running:

Oliva Special S Diadema 7 X 48, Diadema, Sumatra, Box of 20

Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 Churchill 7 X 48, Churchill, Natural, Box of 20

Rocky Patel Fusion Double Maduro Lancero, Box of 10

CAO CX2 Toro 6 X 54, Toro, Cameroon, Box of 20

Montecristo Serie C Toro, Toro, Cameroon, Box of 21

Montecristo Media Noche Churchill, Churchill, Maduro, Box of 20

Nub 464 (Torpedo), 464 (Torpedo), Cameroon, Box of 24

Cusano 18 Double Connecticut Toro 6.5 X 46, Box of 18 w/ Freebie

Graycliff Original Release (1997) Coronas Especiales 6 X 38, Sumatra, Box of 25

Arturo Fuente OpusX Perfecxion No. 5 4.88 X 40, Perfecxion No. 5, Natural, 5

Carlos Torano Cameroon 1916 Churchill 7 X 48, Box of 25

Carlos Torano Virtuoso Maestro 7 X 50, Maestro, Maduro, Box of 25

I can't afford to buy all of that, even with the discount. In the quantities listed, and not counting discounts, the above would total almost $2000. So here's your mission, should you choose to accept it: from the above, or using the above as a guide to be supplemented by your own suggestions, put together a ccom order that totals, say, $800, not counting discounts. In lieu of a 1000th-post contest, the person who posts the order I like the best (even if I don't use it verbatim) will receive a super sampler from my boffo birthday order.

While all the above (except the OpusX) are listed as boxes, you may vary quantities as you wish. You may also include non-smokable goods, as long as it's available from ccom.

Let's see what you got, peeps. Pimp my ccom order.

    Ok, here goes.

Carlos Torano 1916 Corona (I think perhaps you may like the Corona as it is very good IMO) box 25. $108

    CAO CX2 Toro 6 X 54, Toro, Cameroon, Box of 20. Can't go wrong with the CX2. $156

Sancho Panza Extra Fuerte Cordoba box of 20. Worth the investment IMO. $57

Nub 464 (Torpedo), 464 (Torpedo), Cameroon, Box of 24. Nuff said. $103

    Oliva Special S Diadema 7 X 48, Diadema, Sumatra, Box of 20. $225

    Arturo Fuente OpusX Perfecxion No. 5 4.88 X 40, Perfecxion No. 5, Natural, 5 x $23

Camacho Havana Petit 5.5x42 rom the ccom Aging Room. 6 x $6.

So that gets you right about at $800, but with the discount there will be room for more. How's that list grab ya?

I have no objection to that. I'll send you a couple Titans in trade.

    Intriguing list, Joe.

I'll pick the winner one week from today.
You may modify your list as the contest progresses. When the week is up, I'll use the last list you posted.

Don't think of it as a guess. Think of it as a recommendation. The Punch Gran Puro might be an excellent recommendation.

That's a very interesting entry, van. Sort of a super-premium Fuente sampler, with boxes of some good everyday'ers to fill things out.
  • vankleekkwvankleekkw Posts: 404
    Well,

The other Uber-Premiums that I wanted to insert were sold out.

A tip regarding a couple cigars that have turned up on several lists so far: I'm pretty well stocked on Hemingways (though I've still never had a maduro) and Gurkha Titans.

Those of you who've made those part of your list may want to make a substitution.
  • vankleekkwvankleekkw Posts: 404
Ok, I'd substitue the Gurkha Titans for the Padilla Variety Sampler at 34.95 and the CAO America Four for the 4th Sampler at 30.95. This would put it slightly over the 800 mark.
  • urbinourbino Posts: 4,517
Can you edit your last post, van, to include your complete new list? That'll help me find everybody's latest list when it comes time to pick a winner.
  • vankleekkwvankleekkw Posts: 404
Done and Done. Sooo picky aren't we. Are you going to cry on your Birthday if it doesn't go your way. :P
  • urbinourbino Posts: 4,517
What do you mean "if it doesn't go my way"? Why wouldn't it go my way? Mooooom, what's not going to go my way?!
  • vankleekkwvankleekkw Posts: 404
I can picture it now. Next on MTV's my super sweet sixteenth birthday it is Urbino. His dad only got him the 40th anniversary Padron instead of the 80th.

Urbino: "That's it!!! The party is over"
    Dad: "But son why??"
Ubrino: "I can't belive I have to explain it to you. Whatever!"
  • j0z3rj0z3r Posts: 9,403 ✭✭
    AHAHAHA! I Love it.
  • urbinourbino Posts: 4,517
Hey, if I'm the honoree on something called "MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteenth Birthday," I'm gonna be pissed if my gifts are cigars rather than something super-sweet and sixteen.

From what I've heard the Anejo is a much better stick than the Opus X. I have not had the pleasure of smoking either one, yet. :( Happy upcoming birthday Urbs, mine is the 25th.
