Decided to go with the 1844 tonight, thought it would be a nice, but quick smoke. I was wrong, there was nothing nice about it. It started rough and bitter, and ended rough and bitter. I have had machine mades better than this one. I have one more, maybe I will let it sit awhile and revisit

Let it sit, they do get better with some age on them. I've found them to be almost like a fresh-rolled, great ROTT but they need some time to really let the flavors mellow out.

Yeah, I think I am gonna take it back to the states and let it sit in my humi at home for the next year then re-visit. Thanks brother, not gonna give up on it yet.

I had the same experience with one... really disappointed me big time, tossed it halfway through.

I smoked it all the way through just to make sure it wasn't going to take a drastic turn for the better and it didn't, but I will save the other try later.

This one surprised me a bit. It has an odd dark heavy sweetness to it that I cannot put my finger on...some kind of fruit. Awesome smoke I got from medic45 and I will be looking for more. image

Weird. Both the JdN DC and the 1844-50 are go-to sticks for me. Never had any problems with either one.

Except for the time I smoked a JdNDC on an empty stomach.

The JdN DC is def a go to for me too. Love them.

it is such a bold cigar, though, that usually people that don't like them feel just as strongly as people that do like them...

for me though it was love at first light. I've been through tons of at this point (100+ easy) and don't plan on stopping any time soon.

I haven't had much experience with CC. I have to say the Monte #2 was my absolute fav out of the ones I had.

Tonight after dinner while I am watching the History Channel Show, Hatfield's and McCoys, I plan to have a Diesel Crucible.

What were your thoughts Steve? I have a few OpusX coffin's from 2007-2010 and I just haven't brought myself to light one yet. Similar to other Opus' or is this an entirely different animal? Thanks for the thoughts and most importantly your service and sacrifices brother! Stay safe and come back quick ;)

I'm gonna have to trade you out of one of those some day...
So, how many grape Swisher's will it take? I can get bunches of them! I know a guy who knows a guy who knows someone's friend's parrot's college roommate who works for them.
