Howdy from West Texas! I discovered the joys of nicer cigars a couple years ago. I have gone from a once-a-year traditional smoke to a once-a-week TGIF cigar with a couple of buddies at the local tobacconist. I am really enjoying my exploration of the sticks in the $8 - $15 price range, and will probably stay in that range for quite a while, with the occasional celebratory foray into some $20 - $30 sticks. I enjoy the darker, earthy, leather, mocha flavors, with a little peppery kick now and then. Looking forward to learning!

Howdy ladies & gents!
Not a total cigar newbie, been smoking 'good' cigars for at least the last 25 years.
More of a collector than an everyday smoker. I do bring some Plascencias for a round of golf, and occasionally like to sit on the back porch & enjoy one while looking at the birds.
As I get closer to retirement, I've been thinking about collecting some really nicer sticks to add to the humidor, joined the forum to lurk and glean from your expertise.
Brand new to the forum and to the world of cigars.
Long story short: My dad was an avid cigar smoker. He’d always try to get me into the hobby but it never really took. Ever since he passed away a few years ago, I’d have a smoke on special occasions just to enjoy some quiet time with his ghost. Something clicked recently and now I’ve fallen in love with cigars.
Maybe I miss my dad. Maybe I’m a sucker for the ritual of cutting, toasting, and meditating on the smoke. Maybe I’m just addicted to nicotine.
Regardless, I’m happy to be here and to learn from you guys.

Welcome sir. It's difficult losing your Dad. My Dad passed over 7 years ago, and still there's hardly a day goes by that I don't think of him in some context or another.
Hello. I am Marc, and I have been enjoying good cigars for going on 37 years. I was fortunate enough to have been introduced to the pleasures of fine cigars by my father, and it is a cherished memory. I generally prefer maduro cigars, and have a few favorites that make my rotation. I also enjoy trying new sticks as the come up. The best new cigar I have tried and loved is the Liga 10 Year Anniversario Toro. Of course, they are rarer than hens teeth. I also enjoy Tatuaje P2, Olmec Claro or Maduro toro size, and The Tabernacle Cuban Seed Lancero. Guess I might as well include VSG, Fuente Don Carlos and Hemingways in there, too. Oh, and the Padron 1000 series and 1964 Anniversario. And the Amazon Basin 2020.
I look forward to participating in the forums and learning what's going on else ware in the cigar smoking world. Cheers!
