In my opinion, yes. Some say they smoke hotter than briar. This is my second olive wood pipe, and I do not notice it being a hotter smoke. Some also say they will not last as long...we will have to wait many years for that answer from me. I think they have a "sweetness" to them.

Got this in today. Couple blems but smokable. It's a Grain de Luxe Algerian Bruyere apple. Probably a really cheap pipe. Probably paid way too much. Not much info on Grain de Luxe pipes in a quick Google search.
