I mixed up a small batch of strong Gawith and Hoggarth Dark Bird's Eye with sweet Wilke Peanut Butter and Chocolate and stuffed what would fit in my peanut butter dedicated cob to try. I like the mixture.

I smoked the last half-bowl of this mixture that I made up last week. It wasn't enough so I grabbed a cigar.

Esoterica And So To Bed because I'm thinking about how tired I am tonight in my Michael Addis Dublin plateau pipe with another chokefashioned.
That pipe's finish always makes me think of burnt peanuts. Are those still in existence? Haven't seen them in years. But, I may just not be paying attention.

Having some The Country Squire Cowboy Coffee tobacco in my Neal Monier Bing with a shot of light, bright, sweet, fruity home-roasted Ethiopia Shantawene Village espresso on the side to power through the afternoon lull after a night of little sleep.
I don't normally drink espresso with my pipe, the shot is often gone so quickly and then I clean up the espresso machine and kitchen, but this is a treat having thick and chewy coffee with thick and chewy smoke. I'm risking the Wife's ire when she comes home to find the little Robot espresso maker still set up on the counter with a wet puck still in the portafilter and the Fire King cup still sitting there with the waste coffee water between the Robot's legs.

Trying some C&D 2021 Sun Bear Black Locust in my Norm Triptow pipe this sluggish Sunday. (didn't have coffee today)
What were your thoughts on this? I saw the e-mail, went to the site, and it was already gone. Sounded like one that I might like. Not sure I would have bought it right now anyway, but I do wonder if it matches the hype?

Is it worth the hype? I'm not sure. I didn't really buy the hype this year, but did want to try this since I'd seen a lot of pipers smoking last year's blend last summer and enjoying it. I think it was over-hyped this year and sold out very quickly as a result, but that's the way everything is going with tobacco lately. I need to have a few more sessions before I really have much of an opinion on this, but I did smoke two bowls yesterday and I enjoyed them. I could convince myself that there was a sweet honey note to the blend.
I've seen mixed user reviews on this year's blend including some comments about a high content of whole leaf and stems in the tin. The tobacco in my tin looked good to me, it's a broken flake and I'm wondering if this may be part of the problem with some people being used to smoking ribbon cut. I didn't really dry out the tobacco at all or rub it out, I just stuffed the flake in the pipe and slowly puffed away. Here's some photos.
