Sorry I'm a little behind in this thread, but this is the best thing I've seen in a while.
Yeah, no doubt totally fake. There is likely no better nav station anywhere than on a multi-billion carrier. They are surrounded by an aircraft screen such that they once shooed me away before the carrier even came over the horizon. First, low jets. Then, no doubt cause I didn't answer radio, out came a chopper with a blackboard reading, basically, GTFO. My schooner had aluminum masts. I could hear the radar pinging off them. So, no, I don't believe that Galicia snuck up on them.
But funny.
OTOH, a carrier did run a radio mast into the Golden Gate bridge long ago when I was just a yoot. Too high a tide + too high a mast. Shoulda folded it down.
