We had our traditional southern good luck meal of blackeyed peas, collard greens, and cornbread. Good thing we have a raised bed of collards out in the garden because there are no collards in any stores around here. The climate change caused hurricanes got them along with sweet potatoes, peanuts, soy beans and the wind took out the pecan trees. Not having collards for a new years meal is not good luck for southern folks.

Yesterday I had wings for lunch two ways.  My usual hot sauce and garlic marinade the wings dusted with cayenne and a 5 pepper blend (both ways were dusted this way).  The second were marinated using the last of @CalvinAndHobo sauce, more garlic regular hot sauce to thin it a little and a bunch of dried ghost peppers from @WaterNerd.  These were marinated for almost 3 days and then smoked using hickory and cherry until done.  Holy **** they were amazing!  Not overly hot, still really **** hot, but an abundance of awesome flavors, they were so so good.  Thank you gentleman.  I also smoked 3 slabs of ribs and a Davidoff 2018 chefs edition.  @IndustMech came over to keep us company as well, it was a great day.

Shrimp and Grits. The grits were stone ground and the shrimp gravy made with roasted and peeled poblano peppers, mushrooms, and green onions. The onions are from our garden.

Soup tonight, pork Brats, home made chicken stock, gold potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, and escarole from the garden. Cornbread and a Waldorf salad. Good cold weather rich thick soup.

I've had @first_warriors cooking and I can tell you that Rodger knows his way around the kitchen. He should of been a chef.
