Just want to thank everyone for the prayers. Preliminary test results. Show a few, small ulcers in her gastric system. There was no mention of the dreaded 'C' word and, at the very least, small ulcers are eminently treatable. We count it as a blessing.

My 85 year old grandma just went into the hospital in Allentown. They've found a brain anuraism. She has been my rock for many years and yesterday was the 8 year anniversary of my grandpa's death. Please include her in your prayers guys.

Thank you guys, for the prayers. They've got her stabilized. Apparently the dizziness she was experiencing was from vertigo and they just happened to find the aneurysm. Not much more to report right now. We have a few doctor appointments to take her to Friday.

The plural of pray is praise. I'd like to request some please. My step son, the worthless scamp, was at death's door in the ICU in Idaho Falls Friday thru Wednesday, with a heart described by his surgeon as mostly dead. Prior stents and bypasses accumulated over years had failed. The doctors were afraid to do anything. I dreaded watching R2knee2 mourn her son. Yesterday, a surgeon drove in from Jackson Hole to insert more stents and... a balloon! Oddly, this time the balloon is occasion for celebration, rather than the other way around. I took the wife out to dinner. We made plans to fly the scamp to Newark, where there's a giant super-mega hospital right down the road, with a gargantuan wing dedicated to just heart ailments. The scamp's best friend from high school works there, it turns out, so he can guide us to the best people. Makes you feel good to know your wife may not have to watch her child slip through her fingers. And the opportunity to lend a hand is priceless.
I'm a theist, cause I defy anyone to sail the broad ocean solo and not return knowing there is something bigger. More than once I awoke from trance already halfway up the shrouds belting out the Doxology, not knowing how I got there. On the other hand, I am not a believer, because the mythology, face it, is gruesome, anachronistic, and senseless. I do, however, firmly believe in praise. Praise isn't wishful thinking. It's not asking God for favors. But praise does have an immediate palpable effect on the one who praise. Lift your hands and you will feel it.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him all creatures here below.
Thanks.
“It has been a source of great pain to me to have met with so many among [my] opponents who had not the liberality to distinguish between political and social opposition; who transferred at once to the person, the hatred they bore to his political opinions.” —Thomas Jefferson (1808)
Well this went sideways pretty quick. Maybe shoulda started another thread. Not looking for prayers, guys; looking for praise. Give thanks to the Big Guy for me. Our humble household, we are grateful, not anguished. Not asking for any outcome.
The Big Guy, he is a good friend to have. Done me real good this life. Had adventures, sex, love, loss, fresh fish, money, no money, weather every day, dogs to pet, grandchildren to tickle, the price of a good cigar in my pocket, and a good old satisfying poop most every morning first thing. We went to a new restaurant yesterday and we got to laughing at the little baby next table cooing his love at his grandma in the booth beside him. It's a beautiful life. Innit? I'm thinking every once in a while God gets tired of everyone begging for this and wishing for this that and the other thing & loading their worries on Him. Some times he prolly just wants a simple thank you. Pair of robins set up their nest under the eaves of my cedar lined smoking porch. Watched them hatch out three little peckers, who now hop round the yard hunting worms. Last week took this little sweetheart to Muddy Run and bought her ice cream in a snack bar overlooking the lake so she could get chocolate on her nose. I'm blessed.
Thanks G.
Every day's a gift. Get up early and hurry downstairs & open your present.
Now I gotta go to Amazon and look for a safe the wife can keep her drugs in, cause the scamp is that kinda guy if he's in the house we gotta lock schidt up.
Ain't life a giggle.

Good post, Webbie. I often wonder who else is grateful for a good dump.
I don't think the Big Guy gets tired of us coming and trusting for help in life; His character would tell us He's more ready to give than we are to ask. But He is a relational God and want us to interact w/ Him and His creation, so we should seek His face and not only His hand. I'd guess He often sees us as those baby robins; mouths wide open, squawking for what they need, and absolutely helpless.
Praise ans all the best for your family, Davis. Christiana is a great hospital with a staff who knows their sauce. I wish I could remember the name of the Doctor there who oversaw my grandfather's many heart surgeries. I'd recommend him in an instant.
Praise as well to a good morning chit.

As I sit and think about this tragedy I am in tears for the pain and suffering inflicted by a Godless individual upon the worshipers of the one true God. My prayers to the families of the victims, the members of the church and community of Southerland Springs, and my prayers to the shooter's family. What a horrific event. God brings his love to all and his blessings on all, and God will judge all. I know as a Christian, if I were to die where I will be, the joy of the victory is mine, but the pain and the sorrow is for those left behind. This community is hurting like you can't believe, in the midst of hope the world cannot know. Loving prayers offered today!

Anymore there’s always a few people packing in my church these days.
