Enjoying a cup of home-roasted Nyamiyaga Natural Process from Rwanda that I picked up from Sweet Marias. I've been hesitant to try Rwanda for a while because of some previous bad experiences with the potato defect but today's pot and yesterday's pot have been excellent, my Wife even commented yesterday on how good the coffee was yesterday.. One bad coffee bean can spoil the whole pot, it's recommended to grind your coffee in half batches and smell the grinds so that you don't end up dumping as much in case you hit a defect, but I'm hopeful that this batch of coffee will be good.
The sweet, raspberry notes compliment the slightly sour, musty Vice Cat tobacco I'm smoking.

Moisture-controlled triboelectrification during coffee grinding
“The idea you get some type of electrical buildup in coffee grounds is a pretty old observation. If you’ve never seen an industrial scale roastery, you can see coffee grounds flying up and sticking all over the place,” said William Ristenpart, founding director of the Coffee Center at the University of California at Davis who was not involved in the study. “What’s cool about this paper is it’s putting some hard science, some hard data, behind understanding the mechanism.”
I have a small mister spray bottle that I use to add moisture to my coffee beans before grinding to reduce static. It works great. This is the Ross Droplet Technique (mentioned in the paper) named after David Ross, a poster on the old USENET newsgroup alt.coffee back in the day.
Grinder manufacturers have released ion generators that mount or sit next to your grinder to spray your coffee with ions to reduce static. Some have positive and negative outputs on either side so you can rotate the generator to suit your needs.
I upgraded my roaster firmware and software three weeks ago after I finished roasting and today was my first chance to try roasting with the new code. Pre-heat seems faster, around 22 - 25 minutes instead of over 30 minutes and the controls are different now which will take some getting used to, but I think I like it. They log degree of roast and roast color too which is nice, I requested the roast color since I built a Arduino roast color meter so I guess I should start logging that.

A video showing off someone's vintage lever espresso machines. Makes me feel sane with only three small vintage levers and one manual lever, but very cool.
Coffee…I love black coffee!! Like cigars, coffee, I’m an amateur at best. Sooooo…all you educated coffee connoisseurs I’m all ears for suggestions on full bodied beans to try.

I got an email a few days ago about a $40 credit at Blue Bottle and a 20% off sale so I ordered some Three Africans and a Single Origin and paid less than $4. I hope it was worth it.
Not sure where the credit came from, I used to be a Tonx subscriber before Blue Bottle bought them and there was an issue with a declined credit card a while ago because Blue Bottle was trying to charge an expired card, that got sorted out though.
I don't really order roasted coffee anymore since I roast my own, but having a little extra coffee around the holidays can't hurt.

Finished roasting coffee and cooling down my roaster, just finishing up on my cob of Reiner LGF which lasted for the whole roasting session so it was a good pick. I roasted a Nic from @Brokegunner, a Rwanda, and a Burundi from @peter4jc this session, it should last me a couple of weeks.

I'm really enjoying this Nicaragua Buenos Aires coffee that I got from a trade with @Brokegunner and roasted up Sunday morning. Nice, strong flavors with a good sweetness. Thanks for the trade, Brian.

This morning I washed the dust off my Yama 8 cup siphon pot and brewed a pot of Rwanda Nyamiyaga NP. I'm out of practice using the siphon, I didn't feel like the coffee came out as good as it would in my Behmor BraZen coffee pot. Now I have to clean out the grounds in the siphon pot.

Taco Bell to Test Coffee and Churro Chillers in California (https://www.qsrmagazine.com/news/taco-bell-to-test-coffee-and-churro-chillers-in-california/)
Testing the new items at two stores in SoCal near my mom. It's conceivable that I could try this out after Christmas but part of me shudders at this.
Taco Bell should just restore the cinnamon content to churros.
Don't let the wife know what you spend on guns, ammo or cigars.
This video is about a year old but seems pretty interesting and talks about green coffee and roasting. Apologies if I've posted this before.

So sorry, @Jrflickster, I couldn't refuse even if it's not true.
I'd say that's a true statement so you're good lol
