I'm not a big fan of cold brew coffee, but I really enjoyed the nitro cold brew that they served in the cafe at work, at least until the dispenser got grungy in the cold brew started to taste bad.
I decided to try my own nitro cold brew at home, using my home roast coffee, my Bruer cold brew setup, and a soda siphon with a stout tap added to it.
I tasted the cold brew this morning without adding the nitrous and it was pretty boring. I charged the soda siphon with two cream chargers, one didn't cut it, and the resulting nitro cold brew is much improved; the nitro gives it a sweetness and creamy mouthfeel which is quite interesting.
my next step is to try this without the Stout tap to see if it really makes a difference.

Good morning, I love a variety of coffee (monthly subscription for a pound of Deathwish - just enough to give me a pot for every Monday morning and a few "special" pots through the month) But just a heads up, your local Starbucks might have some Casi Cielo left. This is a delicious roast and, in my opinion, the best roast they have - by far. If you've not had it, go in and ask to try a cup. If they are out of stock, it is most likely because the baristas have bought them out.
People like what they like, there's no right answer.
True, but if you never had the good stuff, don't be acting like a huckster for a giant chain coffee house on a thread where obviously the participants know coffee.

Since @12Ultralimited is a Harley-ridin' patriot from the great state of Wisconsin, we'll be patient with him and allow him time to see the light... maybe even make him a decent cuppa when he makes it to Milwaukee.
Making assumptions about someone's experience or motivation regarding their knowledge of quality in coffee, cigars, or anything else is not very friendly. At best, it sounds like elitism, at worst, it sounds like being unnecessarily judgmental as a way to prop up one's own perception of being a connoisseur.
A careful re-read of my post would make clear that I was not endorsing "over-priced swill" but rather suggesting a roast of their's that is much more balanced and flavorful than their normal roasts. Just an option for those who might not want to pay $19 per pound.
If you don't want my suggestion, don't take it. I will lose no sleep over it. I will continue to make a variety of brews with a variety of roasts and enjoy them all at home, be it by espresso, french press, cold brew, or (gasp!) automatic drip. No, I don't have a chemex nor do I have the patience for a pour-over (but if that's your thing, knock yourself out!) But having been a barista, a chef, a cafe manager and a Lutheran, I've had more than my share of coffee, from good to dreadful. Just like with cigars, I sometimes want something with a stronger flavor, and sometimes prefer something more mellow. It's personal choice.
And once again a post with some jesting involved gets taken too literal. Oh well my assholeish humor misses yet again, time to go make fun of myself some more.

I have never bought a cup at starbucks that tasted anywhere as good as made at home. All of it tastes old and burnt. Of course, since I now refuse to use any starbucks product it has become a mote point. Another delivery from the curmudgeon should be here today.

Welcome to the forum. Let me say that I was not intending to step on toes however if you stick around this great group of guys and frequent the forum you will find that we have almost weekly one post wonders that are selling, or self-promotion. In just the past few months we have had a guy try to promote his website, one sell his invention, guys promote certain cigar brands and etc. This forum should be free of such. So we sometimes go overboard when we smell something rotten. . Am sorry for reading your post as an advertisement for Starbucks, to me it seemed as if it was written by an employee of such in order to promote sells. As you know what happens when you assume. I hope you stay on the forum and be an active BOTL.

Welcome to the forum. Even though Patrick seems like an **** he really is not. Very hard to tell at times but he is ok. Who am I kidding. He is a total dickwad.

Wow! A bit thin skinned there buddy. You got to have thicker stuff to hang out here. We give each other crap on a daily basis.

It has arrived. One bag on the bottom came open so the bottom 4 went to my wife, and the worst coffee maker in the world. I don't know how it happens, but all coffee tastes the same when made in her coffee pot. If @peter4jc did not pack the box so well we may have had a loss. But not to worry, every bean was accounted for.
I didn't mean to go off half-cocked (insert joke here). I grew up with three older brothers and am quite familiar with good natured ribbing. I was at work when I wrote that and I am in customer service, so I am used to personal attacks. At the time, it came off a bit heavy-handed towards a guy making a sincere suggestion of a coffee he enjoys - especially since it was one of my very first posts. Seeing the context as explained byTNBigfoot68, I can understand why my original post might have seemed a bit promotional. Starbucks definitely does not need my help. It was just a suggestion. I apologize for the confusion. I am just trying to meet some cool people, learn a bit and have a few laughs along the way.

Cool. It’s really an awesome bunch here. We’re just a little dysfunctional 😂
Where in Wisconsin are you from @12Ultralimited? I'm in the Appleton area
