After following the link that our favorite cigar chick posted to the Box Bedlam sale, I asked myself what I was missing, and if there was supposed to be a coupon code somewhere.
Imagine a business model that relies on, 1) the majority of your target population being content w/ mediocre products, and 2) not having the brains to shop around for easily-found lower prices.

I saw it and didn't bother to look at it, yet, and as I was navigating my way over here, I somehow began to think about the same economic situational type things, and wondering what it would be like if they pulled the plug on us. And what do I find when I get here? You're over here twiddling with the chain attached to the stopper.

Nearly every time I watch TV I'm inundated with ads for prescriptions medicines. If I can't just go and buy these things, or not, my choice, why are they being peddled to me? If only the doctor can dispense this, why tell me?
And, there's a recognizable pattern. I notice that most, not all but most of these meds have 3 syllable names, accent in the middle, and sound like words from an old Tarzan comic book.
"Tired of everyone else being picked as partners because people say you're stupid? Ask your doctor if you should try new Biwyznow (Be-WISE- Now)"
"Do you find that you tend to stare at a single focal point too long? Friends and family commenting on your thousand-yard stare? Tell your doctor that you think you might benefit from new Strabizmo. You'll be blinking and multi-focusing like a motorcyclist without brakes in no time!"
Then come the Lawyers:
"Do you suffer from multi-system organ failure after taking Biwyznow? Contact the law offices of..."
It all seems a little crazy. A lot crazy. Plus, I've been mowing and bush-hogging in anticipation of the next rain, and my brain won't just shut up.
Who's the crazy one now? "If your brain never shuts up, and you have chronic tinnitus, ask your doctor if Su-TU-fuh (STFU) is right for you..."

What are these indoor window boxes for?
I’ve never seen them anywhere except at the Mayberry courthouse. Were these a ventilation thing before AC was common? If so what was its function?2 -
I wonder if the Venetian blinds raise from the bottom so that they can screen the view from the street but still let light in when half raised.

I googled "mayberry cpourthouse window". Even with the misspelled word it led me to mayberry.fandom.com. and a general discussion thread about the courthouse layout and somebody asked about the "lower valances" and one answerer was certain they were rain guards. And I then googled "rain guards interior windows" and found a modern-day version on amazon. Before AC was common, it was a necessity to leave windows open nearly all the time in hot weather, so they had to be prepared with extra protection against rain.

I hit "agree", but yet, once someone has procreated, it's too late for Darwin. Also, many times those morons take some innocent people with them, or take some innocent people, while the moron survives.
