Not my idea of freedom. Hopefully the highly prized system of checks and balance will attenuate some of the Sturmabteilungen tactics.

The Trump administration has urged government employees to inform on each other in an effort to root out any attempts to hide diversity programs.

Well, thank God they didn't do that in World War II Germany.....

Well, the Cancel Culture tactics are wearing out, people were starting to catch on.

When you get to the bottom you go back to the top of the slide, and then you go for a ride. We're all bozo's on this bus.

Sorry, on reflection I conclude that I'm being flippant when this is actually serious.

There's a Zen Koan: "When is a white horse not a white horse?"

    So:

When is a salute not a salute?

I fear what you fear, @silvermouse , @Vision . I have always been leery of The Donald, and I share your anxiety about him. I have for a long time, ever since he took up Hillary's "birther" claims against then candidate Obama and ran with them.

Here's the thing: While I fear Trumps possible intentions and aspirations, I've come to realize that the Democrats have already achieved most, if not all of those things that I fear. They have controlled the media into distortion of truth, controlled academia into refuting obvious science in favor of pandering to certain hedonistic deviances, controlled the public mind into believing utter nonsense, and I'm tired of it.

They've done all this with such deft and subtle machinations and manipulations that even educated and intelligent people such as yourselves, and myself as well, have bought into it and believed their nonsense.

Not that Trump is much better, or better at all. His obsession with the border is pretty scary, but there are things about the border that are even scarier if we sit and do nothing. His tariffs? Probably too little too late. The list goes on.

Did you see Bernie Sanders comments about the inauguration speech? Bernie called out the lack of attention to some very real and very present problems. He sees what's wrong quite clearly. Unfortunately, his solutions are terrible. Raise minimum wage? I've been victim of that all my life. Every time they raise the minimum wage it costs the middle and lower classes more than the tiny momentary relief the raise brings. Raise it by 3 %? Prices go up 6 %, etc.

Perhaps I'm wrong, sorry for being flippant, but there it is.

The saddest thing of all, for the Democrats, is that they couldn't drop their agendas long enough to care enough about our country to find and back a genuine, serious candidate.

@Amos_Umwhat if you did go through and watch both of the videos, of both Kamala and Elon, and you still believe those are even close to similar you're being disingenuous. I watched both of them and listened to both of them...... not even in the same Zip code.

Edit . I take you for an extremely smart man. There's no way I believe that you believe those are similar. Taking one frame and a photo and comparing it to a photo, but not looking at the entirety of the video...... again I think you're better and smarter than that.

Unless I'm the victim of a troll job, which would be awesome.

Well put @Amos_Umwhat. Flippant is a useful approach to the problem of politics being the antithesis of beneficial and egalitarian governance. Coming up with a cure for this shows no practical solution that I can see, short of a global lobotomy. Reminds me of this song that bombarded my childhood ears:

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
    Flying there-under, under the sea!

Full disclosure, I did not watch the video of Kamala. My assumption is that it was simply a gesture on her part. I saw the Musk video, and I think he was simply trying to say "my heart goes out to this..." I do not believe the two to be similar to one another in any way.

The answer to the Zen koan, and to the question: "When is a salute not a salute?" is the same.

Sometimes….people see what they want to see. Interpretation, of literally anything, is subjective.

And sometimes people choose not to see what they want not to see. For your statement to hold true the inverse must as well, correct?

I saw the video and the whole crazy thing he did and I heard what he said. And I’ll argue against anyone who says otherwise.

Trump is a Nàzi, we've heard it for years. Can't imagine why all those people voted for him.

He and Musk just reek of Socialism, don't they? Not a capitalist bone in their collective bodies. It's so obvious. National Socialists, for sure.

He is for and supports Universal Basic Income..... Socialism at its finest my friend.

You may not like Wiki... just go there and read on Musk. Read the "Personal actions, views, and social media usage". From there, if those answers don't align with your beliefs, read some places you trust. He's a pretty fvcked up dude. Supports China, Alt Far Right German Political Movement, Russia.... Good luck with this guy.

Either prediction is a safe one to make. What are the betting odds on a breakup between those two? The betting industry bets on everything. Somebody check that please.

$124,638 total dollars wagered on it on both sides, 25% chance he's out by July according to the bettors.

Oh, and Pete, you're right, Musk is indeed a weird dude. I have no idea what he'll do next.

@Amos_Umwhat well said above. That is my awesome.

I mean, Musk is an all time weirdo. I have no idea what goes through that guys head or why he did that. Maybe he thought it was funny or mocking? All I know is that that's what a textbook Sieg Heil looks like, and he did it twice in a row.

I don't think he has naughtzi tendencies, but I thought when I first saw it that he might be trolling. I mean, he could have kept his palm up to make the gesture, but he did not.
