Back to Charlie, he used facts and logic, never said anything that could even remotely be considered hate speech, unless you're insane, always let the person he disagreed with speak their minds, and held tightly to his Christian values.

Jesus did not say "if you follow me life will be easy, or you will be loved by the world", he said "take up your cross and follow me".

Charlie Kirk did exactly that, and the world did to him what it does to truth speakers who refuse the temptation to become extremist.

I, for one, will miss hearing him calmly and competently disassembling the insane arguments of the Woke.

I am surprised at what some consider to be a right to free speech, however. Notably, the very same people who celebrated Charlie Kirk being murdered in front of his family for exercising his right to free speech by speaking undeniable facts in a public forum, are suddenly all tore up over Jimmy Kimmel being fired for spreading disinformation over public media.

Seems a little hypocritical, doesn't it?

Yes, it does. I also think it's hypocritical of some on the right to demand the firings of people like Jimmy Kimmel, after complaining about cancel culture constantly. No one actually believes anything anymore based on principle, it's all about D vs R.

I was wondering whether any of the conservatives in here were going to say anything about Kimmel. I wasn't sure whether they'd be happy, or whether they'd call it what it is, cancel culture. I doubt you feel this way Steve, but is there anyone here who wants to make a case for why cancel culture is bad, but Jimmy Kimmel getting cancelled is good? I promise to not come after you like other people enjoy doing, I just want to hear the case for it.

I do not like the government impetus behind the firing, at all. Period.

The company Kimmel worked for has every right to censor, and censure his speech. Anyone here remember Bob Hope? The comedian got cancelled for saying that "If women's skirts get any shorter they'll have another set of cheeks to paint." Bam! Off the air.

I used to like Kimmel, but stopped watching, probably about a year ago. I don't mind him ragging on Trump, but good grief do something else from time to time. My personal view is usually that such things will go on, as long as people keep watching, paying attention, and paying for it. When it stops, it's run its course. Move along.

In this case, I wonder if Kimmel was making a joke, or deliberately disseminating misinformation with the intent of swaying the public to a certain point of view? It was known, prior to the broadcast, that the shooter was involved in an LGBTQ relationship and made the decision to murder based on his emotional commitment to that relationship. My question then is; did Kimmel know? Perhaps the "joke" was written before the knowledge was public? That should be taken into consideration.

I see all kinds of allegations concerning Kirks prejudice and hate etc., I have watched a number of his campus debates, never saw that, but I didn't listen to his podcast or radio show or whatever. However, I'm also seeing clips of what he actually said, IN context, and still no hate. He was guilty of saying things that people hate to hear, because what he said ran cross-grain to what they wished to believe. And they hated him for it.

I didn't hear anyone call for the cancellation if Jimmy Kimmel (but correct me if I'm wrong, with sources ) ). The first I heard about it, it was a done deal, and the show had already been pulled, a mere one day after his statements, I think.

I think the conservative glee over the cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel is a verification of what has been said by conservatives all along "It is wrong to cancel people for their political beliefs and speech." It is still wrong, but it is also always nice to see the dog that has attempted to terrorize people at the beck of it's master, turn and rend the master once in a while. This is the beast that leftists have created and used often, and, per usual, at some point the beast takes on its own life, and will turn on its creator.
