Wet. It's been raining about a half inch every day. Our garden needs to dry out and get some sun. Wish I could send some rain to Edward.

Ok, semi-coherent rambling time:
The last couple weeks I have noticed a lot of signs that autumn is coming early. Very early for this area. The nights have been cool, the mornings foggy, and the days warm. Not hot and humid as they would normally still be well until the end of September. My yard is already littered with falling leaves. Even animals have begun winter preparations. Noticing all this I have been doing a lot of pondering as to why it is happening and I think I have figured it out.
I’m sure that everyone remembers all of the fuss back in 2012 about the Mayan calendar ending and the end of the world and all that bullshìt. Well, I think the Maya were actually on to something. Hear me out…one thing the Maya were very good at was telling time. They did this by the sun. I believe that their calendar ended when it did because they could no longer use the sun past that point to continue accurately telling time. There’s a reason for that.
We learned in school that the Earth rotates around the sun and it does so on an axis that is askew approximately 13°. This tilt is the cause of the various seasons. We also learned that around every 10k years or so this tilt does a complete flip resulting in the axis being tilted approximately 13° in the other direction. This “flip” is believed to be the cause of several ice ages that have occurred throughout time.
I believe that the “flip” started in 2012, resulting in the drastic weather patterns we have seen in the last decade. I believe that in our lifetimes, maybe our children’s, that we will see a complete reversal of the seasons.
I believe the Maya were onto something but they just didn’t have the scope to understand what exactly.

Two and a half inches of rain today. Supposed t rain a bit all week.Folks are trying to set up for our county fair next weekend. Rides, tents, livestock, garden produce etc. No target shooting though. Looks like it will be a great big mud hole.

so far from the storm that dumped up to 6.5" of rain and closed down I-95 due to flooding in Rhode Island we have received 0.125".

55 and overcast. Sunday into this morning, so far we have 3.5" of rain. 50mi. south they got almost 8". Might have to be careful driving my "puddle-jumper" (as my dad called little cars) today.
