I should mention this means replacing it, not just painting it.

What's the big deal? It's not like you have anything better to do. ;-)

The house we are buying is gonna need the master bath re-done, the deck re-done, the family room finished and probably most every outlet in the house replaced.
Yay me.This is the wood the boss lady wants for the deck.

Those aren't the actual boards.
The ones I will be using are 2x8.
I would have liked 2x10, but 10" wide is alot more money and would take longer for them to get them to me.In Fumo Pax

Yep, there's lots of ways to repair a mistake with metal. With wood? You need another piece of wood.

@0patience , gotcha.
Fasten them well. The wider the board, the more susceptible to cupping, making an unsightly and sometimes unsafe surface. I'd recommend 2x6 with 3 screws at each joist.4 -

I cut it twice, and it's still too short

I have that same problem. I have yet to find a solution.
Flooring is the worst and usually I cut the wrong end. So the tongue and groove parts is opposite where it needs to be.In Fumo Pax

Weather was perfect today so I got the gas line done to relocate the grill. For you folks who do this, yes I did all three of those things. I’m going to make a weather proof support to match the house tomorrow.

The basement trim is finally complete! As expected my walls were pretty messed up, so I focused on lining up the trim and not worrying about wall gaps in places. I’m not upset how it looks and Colleen is very happy. My mother in law already told me I have to do the whole house. No one saw that coming (sarcasm). I’m going to cleanup the paint that got on the tile after everything is fully dray, and touch up the walls another day.
