Storm surge this morning, the bay is wild. Wood pile is soaked since the tarp weights were no match for the wind. Otherwise we have fared well, trees are all where they are supposed to be, (in the ground rather than through the roof). Life is good.

The older I get, the more I notice how the sense of peace and deep gratitude saturates my inner person when a storm comes and goes and my life is still intact.

3D 🏹shoot today…pretty technical 💯‼️‼️ I took pics of the shot info, what the shot looked like from naked eye and shot with as much magnification my phone would give. The overnight snow definitely weighed down the branches. Closed up some of the windows to shoot through pretty tight. It was a very fun shoot 🤙🏼

Snapped a cool pic this morning on my way to work. The sun was rising over a pasture that was covered in fog.

What kind of penetration you getting at that distance?

Rusty, truth be told, I got him in the hind quarter from that distance. It was kill penetration…just in the arse 😜. I’m getting 290 fps from 72 lb pull and 28-1/2” draw.

I've never used French cleats before but always thought their simplicity made them a beautiful solution for hanging things on a wall. I'm going to use them for the four acoustic panels on the wall behind the speakers and also for the two that are going on the ceiling. When I was cutting the 45* angle on the cleats some spectacular grain popped out at me; I had the blade leaning toward the fence and I think it caused some hotter temps on the blade. I don't recall if there's a right way or wrong way to orient the angle of the blade to the fence but this was a cool result.

I need to get down in the woods and look for some. I've found it before, but the bugs had pretty much done them in.

I ran across a patch of those when the kids were young, had no idea what they were so we took a sample to a young mycologist that lived close by. Our boys were in the same class so I knew him from school functions. When he saw those he was quite excited, gave us the whole story of the morel, what a tasty elusive treat.
I Googled the guy when I saw this and apparently he is one of the world's foremost mycologist (mushroom dude). He was just a hippie chasing a dream 35 years ago.A little dirt never hurt8 -
