… sorry
Maybe I should take up smoking a pipe
It's a sign.
A couple things to keep in mind: once you've mastered it you can smoke all week for the price of a good cigar, but it's not the same as a cigar. Each has its own benefits. You'll get a little less flak from the family about the aroma, as a general rule.
Give it some thought, let us know. I'm sure there are one or two fellows around here who will help you find your way.

Well I am cheap and my wife hates pretty much everything associated with the smell of lit cigars.
I need another hobby like I need a hole in the head BUT if I were to try a pipe, without going crazy, what would a "starter" kit consist of? I imagine a drug store Corn Cob and some Borkum Riff is as frowned upon as White Owls and Old Dutch Masters cigars.
Actually, Corn Cobs hold a higher status than you might expect. Not the toy ones at the gas station, but look for a company called Missouri Meerschaum. Borkum Riff or some Captain Black, Sir Walter Raleigh, that's where most of us started. It's a process, like cigars. Go to Smokingpipes.com and on their home page they list starter kits. Don't remember what they consist of, but they're a reputable source for all things pipe related. Highly recommended.

So, your wife is some kind of Genie? Or a magician of some sort? Able to make unicorns appear at will?
Happy Birthday!
@Amos_Umwhat my local b&m gets many ‘unicorns’ in both tobacco and cigars. He sells everything at retail prices. I’ve seen what the prices these things go for on different auction sites so I feel pretty daggum good about the price I paid for these.
That's awesome. I'm on the Email list for some Margate, but there's 12,406 Chinese guys ahead of me.
Good luck. I will keep my eyes open for you as well.

Got this package from stubble. Steve is far too generous to this old slob. Over the top! Practically speechless. Got a cool Carrot Brothers Ranch hat, making me a member of the exclusive club.
Lots of tobacco to try. The Gramercy Park is perfect for mornings.
And this Chacom is absolutely stunning. The most beautiful grain I've ever seen. Almost brought tears of joy to my eye when I opened it. Steve, I will forever be grateful for this wonderful gift. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

@ShawnOL not sure if you know or not that you can buy those corks separately and turn any ashtray into a piper ashtray.

The ashtray and cork (not affixed) came with the stand. I put them away for later use as I have no room for it on my end table.

I get a free cork knocker with every bottle of Scotch or Rum I buy.
