Hello Everyone! While considered a Newbie, I have dabbled with smoking a few cigars in the past. The most noticeable was the ACID Blonde. For some reason, I enjoyed it, mostly due to the aroma, however those around me criticized my selection that night. I just purchased the Cigar.com Start Set IV. What's the number one thing I should do as a new-er smoker? Thanks everyone!
Smoke what you like. that's #1.

I'm a practicing dentist, research scientist, book and journal author,
lecturer, & owner/CEO of a dental R&D and product sales company. Keeps me busy. My hobby passions are cars and cigars.
Probably because they're inexpensive hobbies! NOT! LOL!
My son introduced me to cigars back in 2003, and
I've loved them ever since. I drew up blueprints and had a 10-foot-long humidor
custom made for me in Florida, and shipped to me here in So. Cal. I stained it,
added features to it and built it into a 10-foot archway in my home. It's my
baby.
It has beveled glass on both sides and on the top. The top three panels
open for access to the humi. It has electronic humidification and an air
conditioning unit at the far left that you can see. I added 10 mini computer
fans up under the sides to circulate the air 24/7. And I put in LED lights on
both sides up under the framework. The LEDs are on a wall switch.
This is what it looks like at night with all the
room lights turned off:
Next are the views from the top with the doors open on all three
sections, from right to left:
You can see the air conditioning unit on the left above.
I prefer a punch to a cutter because it just feels
cleaner and better in my mouth. But that often results in a draw that's a bit
snug. So my favorite cigar tool in the world is the PerfecDraw.
And yeah... in case you were wonderin'... I
created this new PerfecDraw. I made something like this years ago, and
cigar friends were always reaching for it to use it, and driving me nuts to
make it available.
We dentists have some pretty cool tools, and an
ideal draw is important to me when I smoke a cigar. I know that some don't care
that much about the draw, but I personally don't want to settle for an
acceptable or even good draw when I can have a perfect draw.
I have a very distant history in mechanical
engineering and physics, and using those cool tools I have, I made a tool to
fine tune the draw of any cigar I smoke. And over the years most of my cigar
buddies would grab for it and use it constantly, and they drove me nuts to make
something like that available.
My management team at my dental products
R&D and product sales company want my 100% undivided attention because it’s
a pretty big international company. But I’m “da boss”, and a guy has to have
SOME fun. So this has been my fun for the last couple years bringing this into
reality.
If you’re at all curious, you can see it in
action at www.PerfecDraw.com.
And I guess we'll leave cars for another time.
I hope to meet some great folks here and make
some good friends.

Welcome @CigarFan29. Excellent setup. Sure looks better than my Coleman coolers. I watched the first video on the Perfecdraw and I will be picking one of those up.
Just ordered one. I like the idea of it grinding/cutting away a small channel rather than pushing it aside as other draw pokers do. Leave it to a person trained as a dentist to come up with precisely made tools.

I don't see any Gurkha's, RP's or La Pearla's in there. You may need to introduce him to these fine seegars. If Matthew McConaughey smokes them, then so can the Dentist. I bet he drives an MKC as well.
SOB I am needing to up my game for should.

You guys crack me up!! What a GREAT group.
Yeah, you DO see some Gurkha's in there! But 85% Cuban. Ahhh -- from the days before I got nailed TWICE by US Customs & Border Protection.
But no Usaf06, I do NOT drive an MKC. I like the little ones. This is my baby (just got 'er up to 635hp).

I am glad to see a thread for newcomers on my first time visiting. My name is Wayne and I am 36 years old and have been an avid cigar smoker for over ten years. I started when I got a job at a cigar store long ago and became so in love with the whole idea that cigars are one of the last commodities around that are entirely made from hand from start to finish. The owner of the store gave me the liberty of trying one of every box he had on the shelf to expand my sale knowledge. I was hooked after that. After working with Jay Bohon the last couple of years he has encouraged me to join the forum. I look forward to many good conversations to come.
