We have a winner. I was surprised the bulldog thing made people clue in on Adam Sandler, but once it did I thought my previous hint of starts with fisticuffs and ends with love would give it away pretty quick :P.

LOL.... I just typed "best sci fi movies ever" into google and guessed whatever was #1. Definately Fifth Element. That's one of my favorite sci fi movies of all times too!
Next hint: The hero of the movie works as a taxi driver.
