In the late 70s and early 80s, I used to run up the Al-Can highway when we would take nets and supplies to Homer, the the boat would pick them up in Homer and take them to Kodiak.
Haven't made that trip in decades, although a buddy told me it is now mostly paved.In Fumo Pax

We went up the Al-Can in '65 when I was a kid. My Dad driving our VW Camper. I don't remember any pavement, at all. I do remember helping Dad wash off about a 3 inch layer of mud and gravel when we got to Anchorage. Back then, you could always tell who'd just been up the Al-Can.

Those stickers were from when they made good sticks every couple months. Now its whatever sticks every week.

Question for you experts here:
I've got my cooler just about filled up (quicker than I or my bank account would like to admit), but I'm wondering about air circulation. I'm a bit nervous about developing mold on some of the cigars on the bottom. Ive got every box a bit propped open with two cedar shelves. Not worried so much about the shelves more the boxed ones. Do I need some sort of small fan in here or am I overthinking this?

I've got stuff that's been buried for years and the only mold I've had was under a cedar sleeve.

Every time you open the cooler and let the lid fall closed you have just changed/cycled the air. No need to prop the boxes open either. As long as the environment is right you have nothing to worry about. Keep out of sunlight and high heat, all is good.
