    I let em soak in warm water with oxyclean for maybe 15 to 20 min and then use a Mr clean eraser (fine sandpaper or some other slightly abrasive material could work) and then back in.  

    You can repeat until all of the oxidation comes off. Usually a couple soaks and no more than an hour total.  I do not think you can hurt the stems by leaving them in too long.

    They'll need a polish after, but will be clean

    Also, this is what I have used for heavy duty oxidation and disgusting stems. You may not need to soak the whole stem; it doesn't look nearly as bad as some of the ones I've cleaned up.

    Those church wardens are fun to smoke, just remember to go slow. It's very easy to smoke them too fast with how cool the smoke is in your mouth.

    That's awesome bro,I love the Peterson pipes they seem to be my go to. That one looks like a Dublin castle,i have one quite similar to that one.
