Have you tried oxyclean? Works well and doesn't leave a taste, as long as you rinse it well. Or maybe a super fine sanding.
I smoked the Medico again last night, so need to clean it today. Any recommendations on how long to leave in the oxyclean? ~:10?
Thanks! Jay
I let em soak in warm water with oxyclean for maybe 15 to 20 min and then use a Mr clean eraser (fine sandpaper or some other slightly abrasive material could work) and then back in.
You can repeat until all of the oxidation comes off. Usually a couple soaks and no more than an hour total. I do not think you can hurt the stems by leaving them in too long.
Also, this is what I have used for heavy duty oxidation and disgusting stems. You may not need to soak the whole stem; it doesn't look nearly as bad as some of the ones I've cleaned up.

They'll need a polish after, but will be clean
It it is looking better! Will give this a try for the next few cleanings--I suspect with time it'll come 100% clean
Thanks again!
Damn, I still haven't come across any Let us know what you think of it.
I tried the bits, can't get used to em
