More Early Morning Pipe in my Chacom 2020 Club 168 Smooth Apple Tobacco Pipe. This tobacco is pretty dry and I'm getting such great flavor from it that I'm going to make it a point to try smoking the rest of my pipe tobacco after putting it out to dry.
This pipe isn't so much a sitter as a leaner.

Works perfectly for the pipes. That Orient Express is pretty awesome, too.

What did you think of it?
Let it sit out overnight and am trying it again today after giving my palate a rest. Yes, the roof of my mouth got a bit raw yesterday from the heat of trying to light it.
Today I'm getting a hint of sweetness. In line with other Virginia Flakes I've smoked. Next time instead of 15 seconds in the microwave I think I'll leave a flake out for a few hours and see how it burns. It came out crunchy yet still hard to light. Probably should have just rubbed it out.

I also think that because the tobacco was so dry after the microwave that I had a harder time rolling and stuffing it into the bowl so it was a bit loose which lead to a hotter bowl. Flake can be tasty but is more work to get right.

I usually find that the Virginia Flake's need some time. I think that maybe a lot of pipe tobaccos were originally designed to be able to withstand the transportation limitations of an earlier time. Lengthy voyages at sea and being trundled overland in horse-drawn wagons, stuff like that.
