A Dublin bowl flares out wider at the top where a Billiard bowl is straight.
I thought Steve's pipe was more Billiard shaped from the photo which is why I was thinking it could be called a belge, but if it's more Dublin shaped then it would be a zulu or a Woodstock, I presume.
You would think a canted bowl would risk losing tobacco out of the bowl but I've heard of people smoking their pipes upside down in the rain without issue with a well packed bowl. I've yet to try that trick.
This one shows an obvious flair out where the top of the bowl is wider, hence a Dublin.
So, within the different types there's sub-types like for a Billiard shape there's Canadian, Lumberman, Liverpool, and Lovats depending on the stem type (saddle or tapered) and the shape of the shank (oval or round). It gets a bit nuts.

I stocked up on a pound of Arrango Balkan Supreme a while ago because I really like Latakia. Then I discovered Virginia Flake and my love of Latakia was displaced. This morning I loaded up the generous bowl of my meer with Balkan Supreme and I’m loving the sweet, smokey flavor. I’m glad. Getting ready to roast coffee in the garage.

I had a bit of a scare when the meer slipped out of the soft bit an clattered to the cement floor of my garage. Luckily there’s no visible damage, I put on a smaller soft bit to prevent this drama in the future.

Glad it didn't suffer damage; doesn't seem to be an appropriate button, Yak. Something like 'yikes' would work. Must have given you a cold sweat for 30 seconds or so.

then there is the cutty, modeled after colonial era clay pipes, usually with a straight shank and stem...

I like the oval shanked Canadian shape best of those.
