I hope that pipe ends up smoking, after it is broken in, as beautifully as it looks. Folded flake ain't bad either!
My first bowl was of my "Spirit of Genghis" blend that I created. It's doing a marvelous job so far. That folded flake has a couple of years on it, to let the Perique settle down. Also doing splendidly with that. I'm pretty happy so far.

Somewhere in these pipe threads I wrote out the exact mixture, long ago.
Off the top of my head:
Fragrant Red Virginia - McClelland
Ribbon cut yellow Virginia - McClelland
Izmir ribbon cut Turkish - P&C Blending tobacco
Oriental # 14 - McClelland
Latakia - McClelland
Stoved Virginia - McClelland
Black Cavendish - I think Lane BCA "Black Cathy"
I believe that's all of it. As I recall 2 oz of the first 3, then 1 oz of the others. It's been awhile. Mixed it all up the year before McClelland suddenly quit. Bahstids won't come off their recipes or techniques.

Sadly, I'm down to about 4 ounces of the mixture now. Still have about 1 ounce of the McClelland Latakia. I tried to mix up something similar based on Comoy's #11. It came out pretty good, but not quite the same.
I've become quite fond of many C&D and G. L. Pease blends in recent years. "Odyssey" and "Samarra" in particular. Smokingpipes has a 20th anniversary Samarra listed, but out of stock. There are good blending tobaccos available, there was just something about McClelland's processes that gave them that special edge.

Had some Stonehenge Flake in the Neerup this morning. The deep bowl seems to do better with the flake than some of my other pipes. Funny how that works.

@Amos_Umwhat, what's in your "Spirit of Genghis"?
I've loaded up the 2014 Dunhill Early Morning Pipe for a bowl or two this afternoon in my Norm briar.
I made a pipe rest out of a pipe sock with a bag of old rice in it, works pretty good.
