coming along nicely, I hope the kitchen rehab hasn't put too much of a strain on domestic life (speaking from experience).
Naw, after so many years, I've learned when to just shut up. She calls me a dork, I tell her to hop on her broom and go to the store and get me something. It's all good.
In Fumo Pax Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy cigars and that's close enough.
Still slow going. One side is almost completely done. Countertops and ties on back wall still have to be done. The tile we are using is in the picture by the fridge. Hard to see it. Then I have to start on the sink side, which I dread. Then the flooring can go down.

Nothing major but going some new lights and finished the desk for my wife.

Did the exact same thing a couple years ago. I only installed three things. Garbage disposal, not much to do wrong. Dish Washer, hated drilling the holes inside the brand new custom cabinets, but easy set up. Micro Wave, well you know how that goes. Luckily had everything else done by pros

Got rid of the wallpaper, border and rag rolling and updated the paint colors. Going to white trim, white mission style craftsman doors, white cabinets, oil rubbed bronze hardware, replacing outlets and switches to go to white and new commercial carpeting. Also have a local contractor making a live edge counter for our reception area.

Finally got the marble tile on the wall behind the stove.
Grout sucks. Still have to let the grout set up and seal it, but it is done.
Then gotta caulk along where the countertop meets the tiles.
Between phone calls from work and dealing with other stuff, it's finished.

3 coats of Varethane, so far.
All the knots are mother f***ers to seal.
Hopefully will pour the freaking resin tomorrow and once it's cure, fasten the damn thing down and then all that's left is the floor.
Which means new subfloor under the washer and dryer, new vent pipe and shitrock behind it.
Why can't small projects stay small?

Well, epoxy is poured.
Still gotta keep an eye on air bubbles, but pretty happy with it.
Now to wait for it to set up and keep the damn dog out of the kitchen.
Thank god for drop cloths, I only dragged the epoxy resin through part of the house on my shoes, not all of it. 🤣

I hate working from home. I hate painting. I hate my wife saying "get 2 rollers when you go so I can help."
I'm turning this 12x10 playroom onto an office. Hope to be done by Monday.

Yep ^. One time she stepped into the rolling pan and drug blue footprints all over the tile.
It was a cute room as a playroom for a 3 year old and a 1 year old, but they've outgrown it, and my current "office" is a loft that doesn't have enough privacy. Here's the room as seen from my living room

It went with them to the play room. Now I just have to move in.

Never ending kitchen making some progress.
Have to wait for another countertop for the island and the upper cabinets. Then the floor can be installed. Taking a break the rest of the weekend.

Built this quickly when we bought the place so Juliette would not fall through.

I built that just like the previous existing one only to code. Now I made this to replace that. Just need to top it and get the railing parts.

Finally.
A few little thing to finish up, but no mpre cabinets, no more countertops, just finish the washer/dryer area and put the flooring down.

Who thought pastel checkerboard was I good idea? 🤔🤣😆
Wishing I was there to help, knock that out in a couple of hours.
Did you buy the Partridge Family house?
The wife’s helping paint. If she’s like mine you better be picking out some new carpet

Nice. I hope you are going to leave the kid's art.

I like the gray. Maybe a large oriental rug?
