Serious question. I don't buy much beer and the ones I get don't last long. What is the shelf life of good beer? I keep hearing about changes in the quality as time goes buy. I do not consider Bud when I do purchase beer. I like Miller for an any day type brew and pretty much all of Sam Adams.
For hoppy, floral beers, they can lose freshness in a week to a few weeks, for strong, heavy, high-alcoholic beers, they can improve or maintain quality over years. There's a whole spectrum.

IPA has a short shelf life, stouts can age for years.
