    How about "I'm like,..." If you're telling me this story and you say, "I'm like, Officer, you can kiss my ass." How do I know if you're telling me you actually said that to 'em or just thought it to yourself? Big difference. Jail or no jail.

    finna (this may only be a Memphis dialect thing, I'm not sure, but it is a development of "fixing to" which I don't like in the first place).
    "mane" which is Memphian for "man" but applies to women as well.
    Intelligence is knowing that a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

    I like Oliva and Quesada (including Regius) a lot.  I will smoke anything, though.
