Squeaking until they get through the outter hull, then it sounds like a typewriter clicking.

I discovered water damage in my livingroom wall today ended up with a 4x8 hole in the wall and a 35x20 tarp on the roof which I just finish in the dark now I have to see whom has the shortest lead time on metal roofing menards, home depot, or Argonne lumber.

I always use a drill. If you don’t try to force it and let the drill bit do it’s job you won’t have any splitting.

I tried that last time but these buckets are too brittle and thin for that. Probably from a dollar store. A torch and carriage bolt worked a treat.

From FAA Adivisory Circular 43.13 Acceptable Methods, Techniques, and Practices - Aircraft Inspection and Repair

Drilling stiff or brittle, thin plastics or acrylics takes a modified bit or you’ll leave stress cracks around the hole which are gonna grow. If precision isn’t required, the hot poker method works great.

I'm still troubled by what I did for that Klondike bar...

I can definitely see that for acrylics but most buckets are polyethylene. I dunno, drill works for me 🤷🏻‍♂️
