Trying to get back to normal.
Spent 2 weeks house/pet sitting for the daughter and her husband went on a Arctic cruise. Came home for a few days then off to Albuquerque for the wife's annual authors conference.
Of course while there my elderly long time heart and copd patient decided to pass in his sleep. No issues, it was expected and I couldn't have asked for it to be easier for him. Flew to Atlanta then drove up to Tennessee to pay for his cremation. Next month him and his wife will be interred in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Then we get a break until the end of November first part of December for a Texas hunting trip for white tail deer and hogs.
I probably left something out but that's close enough.
Not sure if there is a decent cigar lounge in Albuquerque, but the two I stopped by were not a comfortable place to relax.

Welcome to the Land of Entrapment/Enchantment.
Not new…..not Mexico.
Unfortunately there isn’t a decent b&m or cigar bar in Albuquerque.
Sante Fe has two shops with smoking areas and a good selection if you go there.
You are always welcome to visit me and have a smoke in the Casita de Fumar.
Are you still in NM?
Friends don't let good friends smoke cheap cigars.

I did not realize you were in NM
Would have net up for sure. Sorry I missed meeting you.
What happened to Albuquerque? Homeless people everywhere and the crime rate through the roof.
Your Governors idea of stopping crime was pretty dumb and sure didn't go over well.

We’ve been here 20 years and trudging through the last 2 years of my spouse’s contract at UNM. We didn’t know that was an acronym for University of No Money.
Abq has always been a crossroads town in the middle of nowhere, but we had good jobs and the climate is amazing, so tolerating the worst drivers and lack of amenities is a necessity .
Covid shut down a lot of local small businesses and decimated many native elderly.
The weather, lack of laws regarding the homeless, panhandling, busking etc. is a draw for the homeless.
It’s one of the poorest states in the country and we are very happy to be leaving soon!
We will be house/dog sitting in Gainesville for my brother in law at Christmas this year. Maybe we can meet up then?

Kitchen patrol with a pinch of De Kralingse Musino Tabak snuff. Lovely scent--fermented Vigrinia tobacco mixed with cinnamon, Galgantroot, Angelicaroot, Orangepeels, Fernambukwood and Elderberry blossomwater.
On my way to work, my car reported a check hybrid system error. I limped it to a mechanic who says that the inverter is acting up, it no longer starts. I walked to a diner for breakfast and meet my Wife there, now I need to contact a dealer to have a known issue covered under warranty and tire my car there.

Found out yesterday that my 2011 Prius wouldn't start anymore for the mechanic and he found a Toyota Service Bulletin detailing an extended warranty for the Hybrid Control Module of 14 years or 150,000 miles so he recommended towing it to the dealer. Got it towed, AAA only covering the first 5 miles, and today I found out that the repair, normally upwards of $3,000 would be covered. I'm glad my mechanic told me about this, he didn't charge me for the diagnostic, only for the oil change I had him do.

We just got back from going to get a RSV vax only to find it isn't covered by my insurance and would have cost us $350 each.

Did some mowing for the first time in a year. The job had become Rachel's. Felt good.
Instead of a small can of cat food, the cat just got a larger can of tuna. He's in cat heaven right now.

One of the party guests broke the gate string and then the toilet handle, had to rush to Home Depot to fix the toilet handle.

Between a chat and two phonecalls I spent two hours getting my under warranty Fitbit replaced. They make it so frustrating. Google sucks.

Bring that mechanic some cigars or a bottle.
