Well, it cuts pollution down a bit, what are the downsides besides having to buy the stuff?
Where do I start? As someone who deals with these diesels on a daily basis, I can tell you that our trucks that have DEF, have barely any less emissions than our trucks without. Add to that, the added extra cost of the DEF, the storage and dispensing equipment, which the pumps fail every 2 Years because of the crystallized DEF that form on the tanks and pumps. Then there are the down times from trucks that have DEF sensor problems, pump problems and during the cold weather, gel problems.
And then there are the Regen issues with the newer DEF systems on these diesel trucks. Yes, the soot levels are a bit lower, but the total emissions are barely noticeable. So if it looks like it's burning clean, it must be cleaner. Unfortunately, that's not always the case.

I hate people who have to argue with everything. Especially when you tell them what a policy or Federal law is and they insist on arguing the details of things.

When the Weather people get everyone jacked up about the impending snow, sleet, ice and whatever and nothing happens.
That happens to us all the time. Forecast for 75+ mph winds, we get all geared up for storm clean up and we get 40 mph gusts and nothing else. Or they call for 6-8" on the pass and we get flurries.
What's even worse is when they call for 40 degree weather and we get hit with freezing rain. Then the power company and us get caught off guard and my phone starts ringing at 4:00 in the morning.

Why is it that companies with a customer service phone number always choose the employee with the absolutely horrid voice to handle the calls? You know, the kind of voice that just grates on your nerves .....
