Had a friend Tom M., he passed recently. Medical background and firearms expert. He enlisted in the Navy and got "attached" to one of the teams, did 3 tours and was wounded 3 times that I know about.
Because he was "attached", and a medic he could not officially be called a Seal. The members of the team soon forgot that and started calling him brother, a member of the team, and treated him like an equal. He told me he knew he was accepted when they started calling him "Doc". Total respect.
You may be a troll, but I have absolute respect for what you do and from now on I am going to refer to you as "Doc", just to poke you. Damn I need a hanky.....

Cool old people. Met the coolest old lady ever at the cross walk yesterday. On the street walking to the grocery store and five jacked up and chromed out pick ups rolled by and the 90-year old lady next to me says "Oh my, looks like the *** kicker convention just let out." then she winks at me and walks down the sidewalk.

Make stuff. i have been a self supporting artist/craftsman for 40 some years. i work mostly in wood but at times add metal, leather, stone, to my work. Realizing i was supposed to make stuff was a life changer for me.
That I may have just negotiated a small pay increase for myself and got some of my coworkers more money in the process. Apparently I'm the only one with the cojones to ask for more money haha!
Making my grandpa's bbq shish-kabob recipe for dinner. brings back great memories and makes it feel like he's back for a little while even though he's been gone almost 5 years now.
