What Do You Want From the Forum?

Some of you have already inboxed me, but I think it's best if we make this a thread: what do you want from the Forum?
Any particular changes to things, ideas you think should be implemented, cigars you want but don't have access to, etc. While I wish I was as tech saavy as the people in IT and Web Development, I'm not, but I have direct access to them, so I can start discussing with them what should be done.
Thanks everyone

stop censoring the disagree and wtf buttons. We are all adults and stand by our expressed views. A healthy dialog includes disagreement and the occasional wtf. Speaking of censoring, the algorithm that prohibits common words like "k n o b" and "s h a g" just because they have also been used as suggestive analogues is just juvenile.15

Some stickies about coolers, humidification (boveda and KL), and the usual noob onetime post issues.
Let me add also that I don’t want to make the forum over complicated to the point ccom doesn’t want to mess with it anymore. We don’t want to become refugees and start over anywhere else.4 -
@TheCigarChick Thank you for the opportunity to add our collective thoughts! I don't know if it has been covered before, but I'd like to see a Cigar 101 NEW USER subsection, or a single one-stop thread which can be titled something like "NEW HERE? READ THIS FIRST!", and every useful thread about humidification, storage options, how to become vetted properly, and anything else similar can be added. This will save a bit of time on the learning curve and possibly keep the chaff from the rest of the forum. As it stands, this forum isn't the easiest to navigate, and sifting through multiple threads of the same type could take hours or even days, and I doubt anybody really has that kind of patience.
I think that's all I've got. Thanks!

Make it so we can edit our posts past the one hour limit.
The one hour limit is a pain and if we are doing box passes or contests, creates more posts than necessary.

@TheCigarChick Oh, it appears to be a Vanilla forum, I'm more accustomed to the Xenforo forum, but your IT should be pretty adept at the console, which ought to be point and click for the most part."Love is a dung heap, Betty and I am but a c.o.c.k. that climbs upon it to crow."0

Do something about the filth. I looked forward to the female lady people's perspectives and posts. Don't know if they object to it but they seem to have gone elsewhere. Or if that is too hard move all of it to its own section. I will never get any cookies if you don't.
As I have said before, the WTF button seems to be directed at the story rather than the poster, so it is hard to understand the blackout.-2 -
I also greatly support the idea of a “read this first if you’re new” section. Almost all of us support the use of plastic storage containers of some kind and bovedas, it would be good for new people to see that before they ask. I also agree with the wtf and disagree buttons. If someone wants to flag something, that was anonymous before and could stay that way. Most of the time when someone disagrees it’s for information. Someone may say “is this Gurkha worth $20” and then I can just tap that button and they can see it was me saying that. Also maybe make @yaksters vherf links sticky so I can access them easily from a new device instead of having to find a post by him to see his signature.3
-
Also, maybe create a politics category for people who want to talk about that on a cigar forum for some reason, so I can know to avoid it.10
-
I've gotten used to this forum's quirks.
A way to just display new messages would be nice to have.
Display user's signatures in mobile view.
A stronger, less washed out style would make it easier to read.

Filth and obscenity is just that.
And I do not see a "Heading" for it anywhere on this forum.0 -
Please take politics out of the heading for Non-cigar related and add filth.14

If someone makes a post that interests me I will join it. It does not happen often.
Look on the bright side, I have a few people with nothing to do of any importance keeping busy with some really pathetic posts, no thinking, just words thrown together. And I am sure that anonymous disagrees will start showing up.I did not start most political posts but I will sure as h.ell join one. Who knows maybe someone actually read a book and I can learn something, which is what it is all about.
If you don't want me to be political, get rid of the political heading and stop posting things politic. But until that happens put up with it or don't open it.
I am a very strong believer in free speech even though others on here are not.Post edited by jd50ae on0 -
A display of who started a thread as well as the last commenter would be nice. Or the ability to hide threads permanently.7

Yeah you could hide what you deem filth and I can hide your fourth thread about Mueller. Everyone wins7

Tell you what. Have your wives, mothers and kids read this forum.
See what sticks out to them. See what your kids get glued to.0 -
So which are you for? Free speech or censorship based on your moral guidelines. Because it can't be both7

I don't understand the desire to make an adult site, 21+ age verified, filtered by most content filters already "kid" friendly.
Are we expecting kids to participate in a tobacco forum?

I’m sure there is stuff I would like to see, but I can’t stop laughing about the only guy calling for censorship being the same one that preaches free speech. It’s not like the “filth” is hidden to surprise you. If you don’t want to see a bum, don’t click on the “bum of the week”. If you want some actions censored in the name of free speech, censor your own by not viewing them.
Also, stop comparing maxim level bums to full on porn. They’re not the same. I have no desire to go one hand type, but the buns here put a smile on my face. Stop trying to take my happiness."Cooking isn't about struggling; It's about pleasure. It's like sǝx, with a wider variety of sauces."
At any given time the urge to sing "In The Jungle" is just a whim away... A whim away... A whim away...10 -
