what happened with the old new ones?It was a good brand for many years, still not bad. A few years ago a new company started. They collected natural made bees wax as well as taking samples of all the plastic foundation on the market and had the cell size measured. Found out the cell walls on natural drawn out foundation was thinner and the developed a new way of making the foundation. Bees seem to draw it out faster. In our temp zone we need every advantage possible

Did you lose your old hives or are you bees moving to new ones?Ran 100 to 140 hives , then came the pandemic. We were overwintering in Ga and couldn't go get them (sold them to a friend who let us use one of his yards. We are starting fresh this year with 7 small colonies. Will try to split mid May and once more at summer solstice. Would like to have between 15 and 20 strong to go into winter with. If all goes well 40 by next winter.

I hope the winter is good to your bees and hornets have better things to do than trouble your bees and you. Our garden and fruit trees are largely reliant on ground dwelling bees.

Had an uncle that was into bees, now have a young niece with a few hives.
Don't let the wife know what you spend on guns, ammo or cigars.

Trying to think of a label for cigars, pipes, and honey. May have to have some kind of contest. We have one for the honey we sell, but a fun one for people of like mind may be sort of cool.

5am flight to FL tomorrow morning, to help my daughter go through her former home and collect/document the things that are hers, that her soon-to-be ex won't give her without a court order. He knows she's coming, he's gonna get a shock when he sees me with her.

I had to throw the dogs into lockdown as I was outside enjoying my cigar due to a nearby skunk. Luckily none of my dogs got sprayed tonight, I think Gigi has gotten the clue, she was growling and shaking but didn't try to go confront the skunk tonight. My dog got sprayed by a skunk once it's not a pleasant experience. Glad you were able to avoid it.
I don't have problems, just more work to do.
