Another delightful newb here. My name is Liz and I have no money or time so I decided to pick up a hobby that requires both. I'm a very wise person. So far my favorite stick would be the Oliva V Melanio that I had recently. Smoked it sitting outside in an ice storm (there's that wisdom again) and it was probably the most serene and relaxed I've ever been sitting outside in an ice storm. 10/10 perfect smoke for watching cars slide down the hill. I'm just getting started so I'm sure my favorites will change week to week because I'm fickle and can't make up my mind about anything. Nice to meet you guys.

Thanks for the welcome. I was thinking about the reasons I got into this and I realized it's kind of in my blood. My Hispanic grandparents came to Tampa in the early 20th century to work in the cigar factories of Ybor City. My (non-Cuban) mom spent her summers in high school working in the tobacco barns of Connecticut. The biggest piece of art in my living room happens to be a painting by fight doctor Ferdie Pacheco of cigar factory workers. It's in my DNA. Now if I could get my older brothers into the leaf.

I am a bit of a sneakerhead, but it's a song reference. Thanks!

So I am trying to season this new humidor (used the wipe down method and the sponge on a ziplock bag until it read 72). Then I took the sponge/ziplock back out.. I forgot to see if the analog hygrometer was reading correctly. It showed 72 percent. I went and bought a digital hygrometer today to only see the new humidor reads 87% at 71.4 degrees F. This is a smaller humidor (25-50 desktop). Let’s remember this is only day 2. I just don’t want mold growing and I want the right percentage as well for my soon to be collection of cigars!
What do I need to do to get the percentage right? Let’s keep in mind this is my first humidor (other than the smaller travel size).
