A good friend from church is a retired art teacher - we used to have Thursday night art class that was great fun working through different projects with each other while learning something - and he would often caution us to "know when something is finished and not make it worse by trying to 'complete' it."
The way that I can make a good judgment on whether or not I'm done with a piece is to set it down, walk away and live with it for a spell. Sometimes it takes several months. I like to have several pieces going on in different stages at the same time.
Finally complete. Mostly. The trays and insert measure 17.25" x 9.5". The trays are 3.5" deep and the insert is 4.5". There is a 1" recess underneath each tray which will, eventually, have clips to mount the humidification packs. Next, goes in the seasoning packs and in two weeks I can transfer in the goods.
Work has been brutal lately, and I’m also working on starting a business so I can get off the road.
Had to take a couple days off or I was going to explode.
Kids had heard a couple screech owls, and thought they were really cool, so I told them we’d build a box for them and see if they moved in. I present, Rhett and Reagan’s simple owl box!
Cool @Sethbanks711 ! We have a few screech owls around here, and my 4 and 6 year old grandsons love hearing them. The 6 year old imitates the screech, hoping he'll get an answer. He does a pretty good imitation.
Cool. We had a nesting screech owl in our old willow tree before the storm took it down. I have been thinking of making one for several years, thanks for the nudge/reminder. Looks like it matches my skill level, lol. @Sethbanks711
If you know me and my daughter, that turns into a great excuse for a new project. After some brain storming and a few google searches, we sketched up our idea.
Already had plenty of plywood but needed to grab a few items from Home Depot. (Even scored the carpet tube for free)
Started off by building a foot plate to support the 80” tall scratch/climbing post made from the carpet tube.
I don’t have any more progress shots but, Hailey wrapped the tube in 3/8” rope while I made the top shelf.
Tonight’s project was a corner platform and carpeted tube over the window. On the shelf we made sure the cat could get around to the next obstacle and keep it from jumping down to the shelves below.
I hope everyone notices how much more vibrant, expressive, and profound Rodger's artwork has become since he started drinking my coffee. You're welcome.
Been installing a semi-permanent Christmas lights set-up. Most of the lights will be able to rotate under the eaves and the rest around the porch will be unclipped and stored in the attic. Using PVC pipe, conduit clamps, broom clips and zip ties. First floor is complete. Stage 2 is the second story. 🥵

Pay no mind to the limp giant asparagus. It will be dug up this week.

Got the grain match as good as I could on this, going to be a circle.
And have much of the second done. Sorry for delay, but getting there.
MOW badge received.

Our daughter got a cat this weekend.

We will see what we come up with tomorrow night.
Well-done, Glenn and daughter!

@MrShrek You know what's more fun than a kitten? Two kittens. You need to add another one to make full use of your high "catwalk".
That’s my disagree 😂
A few paintings I am working on. Around 16 x 20. I think I am going to start a series of black and red.

LOL
I've worn out a bunch of brushes because I'm drinking Peter's Famous bean juice.
I knitted this potholder as half of a pair that my wife and I are knitting for her parents. We are also knitting them some dish-wash rags.

From the heart, beautiful.
Thank you, Edward. As I've advanced to the ripe old age of 37, I've come to realize just how worthwhile handmade gifts can be.

Good risk-reduction. Inventive solution to staying off ladders, the older you get the less you bounce if you fall.
