Edward, I kind of knew where I was going but the material kept suggesting unplanned directions. Following the material must have been right as I sold it this spring.

A collage about the Ulvade killings. Mixed media 16" x 28"
After I made this collage I started looking for a home for it. Our local library was willing to hang it but I was thinking more and more about the piece should be closer to the event that caused me to make it. I thought about maybe one of the families of the children killed but discarded that because of the emotional content and I didn't want to hurt anyone. I thought of the Uvalde school board but the school and the parents are now fighting awash with money and lawyers. I did more research and found a non-profit in Uvalde County that has the Red Cross, mental health and social work available to those impacted by the tragedy. I called and they said they would accept my collage. I spent a day packing and composing a letter and taking it to the UPS store. Got a nice phone call thanking me and assuring me that the collage would be in a prominent place to promote healing. Finding a home took me awhile but I got her done.
I didn't make these pockets, but my wife did and I want to show them off. This is my favorite house coat and the pockets are made from an old sweater and lined with fleece. I enjoy having a wife that is able and willing to do these sorts of things!

A work in progress. 36x36 acrylic on canvas. I'm not happy with the color of the round element yet. I'm thinking maybe a image of the moon complete with craters ridges etc. Could over paint with light brownish yellow and let the metallic gold shine through. Still need to detail the red and black. Painted over a pict from the thrift store.
I like the idea of the metallic gold showing through.
I don't know why, I just do.
I suppose I always liked colored lacquer over metal flake on bikes and cars, especially bikes. Just seemed cool.

Works in progress. The skinny ones are "Male Rain" and "Female Rain" ala Tony Hillerman and they mayn't be finished.. The big square one will have some kind of orange in between the blue and aqua. Still trying to figure the small square one. Back to the drawing board.
Made this a while back. It is in the form of a shield with the Vietnam service ribbon the bottom element. Gifted it to a talented Social Worker friend who is a Vietnam veteran.

No, I haven't, but I am working my way through different beer to experiment with how they affect the bread.

Got bored and decided to do something with my cigar bands. Started decorating a wooden box.
What? I don't see any Gran Habano bands on there. Are you kidding me?
