I guess that made sense? In a world where either side is willing to go back to the opposite sides teenage years to find anything that smacks of scandal, that is.

Okay funny but that interview wasn't from trumps "teenage years" brother, it was from 2005. I'm disappointed because I know you know better....

Actually, I was thinking more of Brett Kavanaugh, I didn't think we were sticking to specifying only one candidate, but rather were generalizing the behaviors of both of the major parties. Gun toting Black Lesbians, etc., Sorry if that seemed misleading, or if I didn't realize how narrow the boundaries of the conversation were.

I stand by my analysis of the general behavior of both parties.

Me and @Bob_Luken were talking at Patrick's house about a hypothetical:

If a politician could summon a genie, and the genie could make the country drastically better, but the trade off was that the politician would be universally hated throughout the country, viewed as the reason for all of the problems, as well as never being able to run for office again, which politicians would accept that deal?

I feel like Mitt Romney would. I think Bernie Sanders would, honestly. I don't support hardly any of his beliefs, but I do believe that he believes they're what's best for the country. Maybe someone else really old? If it's only presidents, ex presidents, active senators, and active governors, the list is single digits in my opinion.

Both Obama and trump fall into that category, although they "can't" run for office ever again for different reasons. Obama because he's a two term president and Trump because of January 6th and all of the indictments.

thanks for clearing that up Peter.

Well, he said "you can grab them by the pússy" instead of however I phrased it, something like "I grabbed them by the pùssy" so that makes the statement ok and not offensive like a sexual predator or anything..

Oh wait, no it doesn't. The fact that he's a Republican makes the statement legit.

Did I do that right? Hahahahahaha!

No Frank, it isnt right for any party. I just happen to be watching it on TV when he said it. I remember we both looked at each and at the same time said i cant believe the idiot said that

It would be hilarious to see the GOP pick a hard-right conservative, gun loving black lesbian for 2024. The mental gymnastics the left would have to go through to justify not voting for her.

Don't know her sexual orientation, nor do I care, but I would vote for Candace Owens.

On later reading I see the guy had over a ton of fireworks and some IEDs. It was the IEDs that exploded. My snarky comment above doesn't do justice to the LEOS. Sorry.

  • ShawnOLShawnOL Posts: 9,535 ✭✭✭✭✭

It's because they were illegal fireworks. If they were legal, you wouldn't be hearing about it as much.

Funny how some state's legal fireworks are other state's illegal fireworks.
I cross a bridge and stuff that is illegal over here, isn't over there.
And across the river is where we spend our 4th of July.

Around these parts folks don't have a call to use many fire works. They have much more fun drinking beer and shooting their rifles, shotguns and pistols.

Every year, driving home from the Milwaukee herf, leaving Illinois I always see a million Krazy Kaplan's billboards heading into Indiana. I'm assuming Illinois bans all the fireworks so Indiana capitalizes on that. LOL

Why not? If it's illegal, it's wanted more. I believe in states where they're legal, more are sold to out-of-state buyers.
