According to a recent report published by the Aargauer Zeitung (h/t Golem.de), around three million smart toothbrushes have been infected by hackers and enslaved into botnets. The source report says this sizable army of connected dental cleansing tools was used in a DDoS attack on a Swiss company’s website. The firm’s site collapsed under the strain of the attack, reportedly resulting in the loss of millions of Euros of business.

Apparently that toothbrush story is likely based on an out-of-context security discussion and not based on any actual event.

We're famous for representatives with abysmally low IQ's. Had one through here a few years back who was bragging that they were going to outlaw sale of beer at gas station markets, allegedly to prevent drunk driving. (actually it was just to garner votes from the simple minded) I ask "How do you suppose beer drinkers will get to the store where they can buy beer? Think they'll all just walk?"

In studies with rats, they found that exposures to Agent Orange herbicidal chemicals damages frontal lobe brain tissue, with molecular and biochemical changes in brain cells that are similar to those found in early-stage Alzheimer’s disease.

In particular, the researchers investigated the effects of the two main components of Agent Orange: 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid and 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid.

The toxins in Agent Orange are also present in many lawn care products, study leader Suzanne De La Monte of Brown University’s Warren Alpert Medical School warned in a statement.

“These chemicals don’t just affect veterans; they affect our entire population,” De La Monte said.

“They are in the water, they are everywhere. We’ve all been exposed.”

During the Vietman era, Hoffman-Taft produces the main ingredient of Agent Orange on the plant here. We've had a lot of contamination problems locally, soil and wells.

I was in Vietnam fairly early 1966-1967. My battalion was always out in the bush and I didn't see any sign of spraying or tracts of killed elephant grass or jungle. Lucky I suppose.
