well, duh! Someone got paid to do this research?
    -------

Alcohol ads with pro-drinking comments on Facebook boost desire to drink, study finds

    Date:
    November 14, 2018
    Source:
Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs
    Summary:
Alcohol advertisements on social media sites such as Facebook can increase young adults' desire to drink if the ads contain pro-drinking comments from users, according to new research.
    Ya think?

    :o

So that's why little Junior drinks!  Thank goodness!  I thought we were going to have to blame ourselves!  I knew it had to be somebody else's fault.  Whew!  Close one, we almost had to take responsibility.

I want to do a study on the effects of having unlimited funds to buy what I want.
It's a scientific study, of course.
All data will be compiled and published.

    Hey, it could happen.

I think that's been done, it was called "The Elvis Presley Story".  There was a sequel, "Michael Jackson, King of Pop".

    Stan Lee passed away.
Bill Maher takes the time to insult his life and his fans.
Bill Maher should go back to delivering pizzas.

Every generation has tried to bring along the good parts of their youth. Is that a surprise? From rock and roll to whatever, we have all done it. Is that a surprise?
But for Bill maher to insult someone who has just passed away, someone with more intelligence and creativity then he will ever have, just for the sake of laughs from a bunch of deak head xxxxxxx is so far over the top it is disgusting, it can not be justified.

I saw that this morning.  As a college instructor, it makes me mad and sad at the same time.  We have to prepare students for the real world.  There are some mean people out there and they will not allow you to go off to a safe room with a stuffed animal and "feel better."

I won't be here to see it but you mark my words, the next generation and this kind of weenie BS and the liberals will turn this country on its head, it will be socialist and a complete failure. Preppers may very well be on to something.

Had an engineer mad yesterday because we didn’t give him credit for years worked at his previous job to count towards getting his extra week of vacation with us.

:/   I just looked at him and said really.

Just tell him that is something you ask for in negotiations before you accept a new job.  After you accept a job on specific terms you lose the right to complain about it IMO.
Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular.

Couple hundred frozen turtles washed up on the beach in Massachusetts.

... and, yes, they do find a way to blame frozen turtles on global warming.

happens here every year, if there is unseasonably cold weather it is worse. It's useless to discuss the issue of climate change, people believe what they want.

    Really? You're saying it's normal?
Kinda makes this event fake news, then.

    OMG! Fake news?
    They would never do that.

Florida (where else) man reportedly stabbed woman in head with fork over undercooked potato

Whatcha think about this? This one is from a nurse I know. I think it's funny, maybe you do too. But if she was caring for your sick vulnerable family member, does that change how you might feel about it? And what if you were her employer, and you saw this? Everybody's so easily offended these days, are they firing nurses/doctors/police for posting dark humor stuff like this?

I'd be more concerned about the nurse who didn't have a sense of humor.
