Beck said the rentable pods are a bargain because it allows tenants the opportunity to budget their expenses by paying daily in cash.
“Forty percent of Americans can’t afford a $400 expense,” she said. Forty dollars a day, every single day, is housing for them.”
Who are the sixty percent who can afford twelve grand a month rent? How do I get to be one of them?
“It has been a source of great pain to me to have met with so many among [my] opponents who had not the liberality to distinguish between political and social opposition; who transferred at once to the person, the hatred they bore to his political opinions.” —Thomas Jefferson (1808)
$40 per day x 30 days = $1,200 a month. "...a $400 expense" x 30 days = $12,000 a month.
Tho I was happy to stay at Stanimal's hostel in Glascow VA when I rode home my Versys 650 last year. Thirty bucks. Nice people. Obsessive hikers. Also stayed at a Hiker's Hostel in Rutland when I fetched my Moto Guzzi from there. IIRC, they work on donations, not set prices. Place sets on the second floor of the Yellow Deli... I think the Deli pays the bills. Bernie fans. Yoghurt guzzlers. Career aromatherapists. Nice enough people, tho a bit humorless, compared to Stanimal's. Both these places were bunkhouses like this rentable bunk beds idea. OK for a visit. There's a ton of hostels all along the Blue Ridge, cause the App Trail goes along there.
Interior of the Yellow Deli is amazing. Everything made out of crookedy tree boles all pieced together. Sweet.

restrooms were at the far end of that porch and it was my job to service them.
About the only problem I ever had with the men’s room was replacing stolen rolls of toilet paper taken by hikers who had forgotten to include that item in their pack.
But i swear by all that’s holy, that if a woman could have gotten a 10-wheel dump truck through the door they’d have tried flushing it down the toilet. You wouldn’t believe the things I had to retrieve from there.
And talk about filthy, men leave a pristine room behind them compared to what a woman’s rest room looks like after they leave. It’s just unbelievable.
I realize i’m generalizing in that last paragraph and not all women are bathroom slobs but I think you get my drift.....
I learned this working as a janitor when I was 18. An EM club where at least 160 males visited the facilities each night, and perhaps 6 females. The women's restroom was ALWAYS a disaster. Nasty women! The only thing I could fault the guys for was tossing cigarette butts in the urinals. What's up with that? It's not like they'll flush away, dudes.

Anyone remember this? If you do, you are really old. If you don't, then you really missed out on a device that brought great aggravation and could really take a beating. And they are making them again. LOL!
In Fumo Pax Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy cigars and that's close enough.
