I'm no mechanic, but it looks to me like I need some new upper ball joints.

I got both of them after a couple hours of trying. Some PB Blaster and ball joint press did the job. I've got the new ones in and everything put back together. Now I need to replace the gas tank straps and the transfer case motor.

Busy busy happy early fathers day to you lol

Edit: Could just use a rachet strap for the straps close enough right?

It will be easier to have a happy Father's Day now that I've got all that stuff done.

Ratchet straps would work temporarily, but I'd likely forget about them. That is, until my gas tank drops out when I'm cruising down the interstate.

Out with the old and in with the new. Pool maintenance. Handle and two seals had blown out so it was time to replace the whole valve assembly.

Our boss is on vacation, so my coworker brought in her pet skunk.

The only junk email I get that doesn't bother me is cigar stuff because maybe it's not junk

  • YaksterYakster Posts: 27,587 ✭✭✭✭✭

I just checked my junk folder and there were Father's Day deals in there from tobacco vendors that I didn't see. I marked them as not spam for the future.

Just ordered a pair of prescription glasses so I can pass my driving test this fall without getting cataract surgery. Interesting phase of life when systems start failing and words are more difficult to drag out when needed.

Edward, cataract surgery is no big deal. I've had both eyes done 12 years ago. Gettin old ain't for sissies.

Agree, Rodger. If they say you need cataract surgery then you do, and you'll be thrilled with the results.

Was “summoned” to a work meeting today where I was basically asked if I would be willing to take a severance package and step down. The reason? So that a potential new member of the family could be hired in at a lower salary…ya know…looking out for the future of the company.

    Well that sux.

Hey, you gonna eat the rest of that corndog?

Does "asked if I was willing" equate to "you really don't have any choice in the matter"?

In a lot of ways it does…in some not so much. Kentucky is a condition employment state. Employers can let you go for no reason or cause without repercussions as long as they don’t let you go for a false reason.
On the other hand I started driving a truck for them and worked my way up. They also know that a vast majority of our customers have loyalty to me and not the company. Kind of a touchy situation on both ends.

Peter beat me to it. Is it a big enough package to make it ok and worth it?

It’s kinda starting to look that way.

Appreciate guys…buts it’s all good. Just venting a little bit.

  • Hobbes86Hobbes86 Posts: 3,184 ✭✭✭✭✭

That is a unfortunate, Rusty, especially since you've been with them so long. I'll never understand why more companies do not properly value loyalty and steadfastness.

Something like 11 million jobs available, maybe you'll come out ahead.

Possibly, my oldest son recently started a job where he is making more per hour than I ever have. It is entry level grunt work, too. No special skills or knowledge required.
