My personal laptop wouldn't connect to the network this morning, even though my work laptop worked fine. I could connect to the router but I wasn't getting a valid IP and DNS configuration. I think my security software was messing with me, since I'm not home right now. No amount of shutdowns or reboots or releasing and renewing my DHCP lease would help.
I finally did a Network Reset in Windows and everything is now working peachy keen.

I was busy getting my hands greasy and torn up working on her car that one time I told Kim to make me a sandwich.
Life is full of little transactions between us and others. Though, done informally for the most part.
We should be in the habit of doing things for one another simply because it is a kind thing to do. If we all think of others first, then we don't need to think so much about ourselves.
I see lots of thoughtfulness and efforts-on-the-behalf-of-others here on this forum. Chris jumping off the vHerf for a bit to fix or install something on his wife's car, Patrick changing people's tires and taking on the cooking at herfs, folks inviting me on the vHerf after my awkward start here, Ernest hosting the unbanded contests, "Bob" sending me an excellent cutter out of the blue, etc. The list is quite long and includes many people.

A few days ago I ordered a 5 pack from the daily deal on Cigar.com, for $24.99. Last night, on a competitor's site who ships from the same location in PA, I ordered the same dang 5-pack, but for $34.00. I wish I had a memory.
Yesterday in the cool of the morning I spent a couple hours cutting back all the stuff that has grown up around my studio. Last time I did this was several years ago. Using a folding saw and an anvil hand cutter I cut the blackberries that we not in full bloom and left the ones that were trying to give me food. Cut lots of black locust up a steep bank that were 2-3 inches at the butt. I knocked off the thorns and saved the locust trunks cause you never know when you will need a 12 foot stick. I filled up my utility trailer. Anyway, I'm just getting started, lots more to do. I'll wait until the rhododendron finish blooming before starting on them. Living surrounded by woods means you got to selectively cut them woods back very now and then.

Probably not as bad here, but the sun is dim. Here's Boston...
Wow, that may actually be worse. The good thing is that for the most part smoke rises. As long as there are mountains between me and the fires most of it will just hover overhead.

Drove through Ricky’s neck of the woods. @Rhamlin
Spotted a moth man but no Ricky
Yep I’m on the boat
Yeah the guys I was with aren’t travelers or I would have checked with you about grabbing a drink or dinner. I was only in Point Pleasant about 20 minutes before they where concerned about what time we would get to Ohio. I got them to losen up a little but not much.
We did did hit Toledo one night for a Mud Hens game.

If you were in Point Pleasant and they were worried about getting to Ohio….didn’t they just have to cross the bridge?? 😂

Probably should have setup my ipass account before today
My youngest daughter is mad because I told her that I hope she makes sandwiches better than she does the dishes. LOL I thought it was funny
Once, before we were married, I told Kim to make me a sandwich. Once.
That bad, huh?
First time I went to Lisa's (parents) house, she made a steak-um sandwich
I know, You're a big dog and I'm on the list.

It'll be fine once the swelling goes down.
Where the hell is Ricky @Rhamlin ? Who has the whistle? We need some sandwich making expertise.
My wife loved making me sandwiches because she hated getting her hands greasy and torn up working on her car.

For those of you that cook bacon in the oven, do you still save the grease?
There is grease. Don't save it though. Cook it on a rack over tin foil. Let grease solidify and then throw away.

Yes
I do, no idea if you're supposed to or not though.

Edit: Somebody has the whistle, that will bring him in.
I’m somewhere in the black mark. The smoke is getting thick in the air.

Everyone up here is complaining about Canadian wildfires. All through Ohio has been hazy

I took my little boy to "Bullhead Days" in a neighboring town today.
We took in some RC derby contests, truck pulls, and ate fried bullheads, ice cream, shakes, and caramel corn. It was a good day.
I thought this truck was pretty cool. It only made it 148 feet, but it's a neat classic.

Thanks to my brother @Jrflickster , we were able to diagnose and bypass the latest issue on my downstairs AC unit.
