I used to run a lot when I was still climbing like crazy. There was a 2 1/2 mile loop around a lake I would run in 12-13 minutes while smoking. I got a lot of comments and looks. Also used to run the grand canyon about once a month while smoking too. So just saying that wouldn't be that unusual to smoke on the treadmill.

Meeting with a surgeon today to have her explain what it'll take to remove a non-malignant over-grown polyp from my large intestine. The doc that found it during a routine colonoscopy two Fridays back said it'll take removing that section of the colon, so there's that.

Ooh ouch. I've had this done twice, non-malignant polyp removed, but always as part of the colonoscopy. Praying all goes well.

Hopefully there’s a better way than a resection, trust me it’s not fun. Keep us posted Peter
So, there are 3 stages of pre-cancerous polyps before it's full-blown cancer. This one is stage 2 of 3, but there's some uncertainty because they don't biopsy the entire thing. The surgeon says they can't leave any of the growth behind because they don't want it restarting. She wouldn't say how much intestine has to be removed because she won't know until she's in there, but guesses 10cm or about 4". She'll also remove 10-12 lymph nodes and the arteries that would feed that whole area. The polyp is right where the small intestine meets the large one, so after removing the 4" she'll seal off both ends and lay the last couple inches of the two intestines side by side, attach them w/ staples, and then cut a hole into the two layers that are overlapping.
3 nights in the hospital and some restrictions when I get home. I'll figure when to stop smoking before and when to start again after, but from what I read online, surgery and recovery go better w/o nicotine. Obviously, I'd rather not go through this but I enjoy the science and the healthcare people, and in a way, it's kinda fun. Plus, I get to learn more about trusting God and have one more opportunity to see His hand at work. I've been through way worse stuff than this and in a few months it'll be nothing more than a memory.

First port flush since July and it was like this. 😂
I'm doing weekly chemo, so I don't need the flush. However, I have come to hate the smell of saline!
The Heparin flush is worse, you can taste that stuff when it’s injected. I don’t think I could have done a weekly infusion. I did every 3 weeks and took an oral chemo daily. Prayers for you and I hope you finish up soon

Started a ketogenic diet today. Time to get serious about being less fat.
Right before the holidays... stay strong.
Yes. But only while running on the treadmill.
I’ll cheat on Christmas. I’ll be back on it after. Last run brought me down 20 lbs hoping to lose at least another 61 lbs.

^^^ Don't you have 2 hands??
Two hands and less ambition. I didn't smoke anything, instead I set up my new computer.
Unclogged the toilet.
I remember doing that once. You were here that day too.
I've got skillz.
finished decorating our Christmas tree
You’re late. Christmas started two months ago this year

Best wishes for a positive outcome, ol’ buddy. Like I told ya, once the warranty runs out, things start going to hell.... 😜👍
