Just announced today for Harris County Texas... All restaurants are take out or drive thru only, all bars/night clubs completely closed! This is wrong! We only have 30 confirmed cases in Harris (Houston), Montgomery, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Galveston, Matagortia Counties...My State only has 77 confirmed cases and Texas is fvcking HUGE! This is going to CRUSH the states economy!
That's the point. Election year, big things coming this way. The last time Americans were suckered into voting for a Socialist, the Great Depression happened. I'm not saying the COVID-19 is a slam dunk conspiracy, I'm just saying the media hype and fact that compared to every other flu virus pandemic we've seen in the last 50 years, the numbers aren't computing to "shut down everything!" -but what the heck do I know?
I do see a really solid opportunity for the hand-out crowd to take advantage, however. Leftists do love a good catastrophe.

Nextdoor.com is a site enabling communications with your neighbors with email updates and web posting. Mostly it's whining and ****, but lately I've seen one person offer a box of TP to any elderly neighbors and other threads helping people find eggs on store shelves and providing information about senior shopping hours at a local high-end grocery store.
Might be worth signing up for a bit if you're not already. Be prepared to hear about every porch pirate, homeless encampment, dog popping on someone's yard, etc. though.
Our nextdoor.com is very busy lately with people offering to run grocery & drug store errands for anyone in self quarantine. There's even a food truck coming by handing out bags of eatables, and a hot dog truck for kids who would have eaten their lunch at school. etc.

Things are getting stupid. Government knee jerk reactions are most likely going to become the norm. I seriously doubt life as we knew it a month ago will return.
I'm still troubled by what I did for that Klondike bar...
It's mind-boggling. Seriously, in the time that's passed since this started, absolutely nobody has run out of anything that they weren't already out of during their normal course of daily life. And there's no need that anyone should. So, our reaction is to prepare for life in a Mad Max film?
Back when I was in my 20's I half-jokingly hypothesized that during the Nixon years it had been decided that the American People were over-educated, thus harder to deceive, therefore the public schools must be dumbed down in order to produce more malleable sheeple who would be easier to mislead.

Binny's Beverage Depot is taking the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) seriously. We are taking steps to minimize the impact of this virus while keeping Binny's safe for team members and guests.
All Binny's locations are remaining open for business with temporarily reduced store hours. This will allow Binny's to continue to serve you while allowing team members more flexibility and more time with their families.
Binnys is a massive liquor store, btw

You know what, I have a rash on my chest here. If the flu is worth a trillion, I figure this rash ought to be worth a grand or so. I wonder if Doc Fauci would come take a look.

There's a serious run on silver...maybe it's part of the testing kits or treatment equipment. Managed to snag the last 18 ozs on my preferred broker's site.

People are going nuts here in Harris County, Tomball to be exact. I got me my bottled water for working outside etc. But other than that TP none, Paper towel none. I should have bought more than one pack of paper towels at Lowe’s on Monday, they had a 10 big pack limit, all gone now...this is fvcking asinine!!! Are whole state only 166 confirmed cases and now 3 deaths...
Total USA 7,769 confirmed cases and 118 deaths...

I've been working in Dover Air Force Base for the last couple of months. Been going through the contractors gate, but this morning I used the main gate. Off to one side they had a drive through testing going on....I gotta admit I was a little unnerved seeing people in uniforms and hazmat gear standing there......Reminded me of all the zombie/outbreak movies I've seen.
Just came back from town...seems someone got smart and pillaged the liquor store...an hour before I got there a guy came and bought ALL the fvcking Everclear and 190 Proof liquor! The manger hooked me up with a 16oz. bottle of Everclear so thats cool will give me a little over 16oz. of hand sanitizer LOL
Scored a mega pack of Charmin Ultra Strong... A Sheriff was guarding it making sure only one pack per person...it felt like I won the lottery! LOL

I was just told that will be working from home for the next 2 - 4 weeks. Getting crazy out here but I'm thankful I have a job that will pay me to work from home and have plenty of supplies for me and the family. Still no TP but that's ok I can work around that 👍🏻
My new office

Before all this madness I regularly would spend one or two weeks in my studio without seeing another person other than Lucy. Isolation is the norm for me.
I have to now go to our local small.local hardware store and pick up some onion sets. I'll be wearing surgical gloves and in the truck I have some alcohol wipes.
Anything mailed to us is unpacked outside on the porch with gloves on and the cardboard, envelopes, etc are stacked in the recycling box out in the garden shed.
We have three months of food stashed and one of our wells has a overflow that has been running 10 gallons a minute for years. Got clean water.
I hope the grocery store doesn't run out of beer.

True - the new generation name will be the Coronials
That's a solid gold meme, right there.
I can't take credit for it. I saw it as a meme already. But it was nice to have the glory, if only for a couple of minutes...

People get hungry enough it will get dangerous. Scary though and I hope it doesn’t come to that anywhere.

My son tells me, since he follows currency and metals, that people are buying up silver like it's toilet paper.

It'll be fine once the swelling goes down.
What cracks me up is the curfews. Apparently you're physically more susceptible after a predetermined time of day.
