i use heat mats for starting seeds.....but hadn't considered putting them under these large pepper pots.
do you that adding heat mats would benefit these larger (12-18 inch) pots?
(also, FWIW if you need a sturdy wire shelf, the best deal i found was at target.
5-tier, 18x48x72, $60)

@jgibv I use a heat mat for my pepper plants I overwinter that are in 15-gallon containers (also for seedlings). Works for me and my second-year pepper plants give me a great harvest in early July compared to first-year plants. That's what I love about gardening. Experimenting and try out new things
i'll have to dig out the heat mats this weekend and put them under the pots.

Finally got some rain this week and the weather is cooler. Ghost pepper plants are loving it and so are my strawberry plants

'bout time to resurrect this thread.
Perhaps the warmest February ever here, though it is supposed to get chilly later this week. Even the late fall planting of lettuce survived over winter. Put yellow snow peas in the ground today and sowed some more spinach.2 -
I put a few plants in the ground today alsoA little dirt never hurt1
-
We are planting spinach also. We have a small pond liner in our garden and we got frog eggs in it. According to our garden journal the eggs are two weeks early. I've got to get down to the sawmill and get 12 rough sawn Hemlock 1x6x10' to rebuild some of our raised beds. Pear trees were flowering when I went to the Asheville VA last week. The seed order is going in this week. Can't wait to dig in the dirt.

Got tomatoes, jalapenos and habaneros started inside. Will also be planting watermelon and cantaloupe3
-
Went to the saw mill to get some Hemlock 1x6's. They didn't have any cut so they sawed them for me while i waited. Got 14 10ft for our raised beds. Nice to live in the country.5

SPROUTS!!!! Can't wait to get these outside & in the ground.
Pepper seeds were a few seasons old and only about 1/3 of them germinated. Going to pick up some new pepper seeds this weekend.
And my favorite.....the Connecticut Shade Tobacco sprouts!
Woo hoo!

I need to get the garden planted for this year, its covered in weeds. We had a huge destructive record rains in Texas last year and a lot of weed seed got washed in, just used herbicide on the whole yard and laid 6 pallets of new sod (st. augustine raleigh), need to pick up loral oak leafs today(I just love how it drops them in Spring/Summer) respray the damn loral oak for borers then put down spring fertilizer and pre emergent herbicide. It gets so hot here almost everyone in the garden will die except for peppers, green beans, and some other stuff almost need misters on it during the day to keep it cool so the sun doesn't fry it all (except for the peppers). Almost everything is already green here already all trees pollenating like crazy except for the pecans and hickories. If you quote me do the @TX98Z28 in your text or I won't be notified of your quote, Thanks.1

It was 11 degrees here last night, supposed to be in the 60's next week. I'll be out with sawhorses and a chain saw rebuilding the raised beds soon.1

Working in the yard today. Putting more compost in the beds to get ready for the peppers and veggies
Strawberries are blooming and should have some by next month. Noticed a humming bird going in/out of my citrus tree so decided to take a look
Lets hope the eggs hatch this year they didn't last yearBetter to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt— Abraham Lincoln5 -

Threw together this planting table yesterday. We had a old desk in my others kiln shed.I went through the scrap pile and got used 2x4's and sawmill boards. Ripped the 2x4's for the framework and used some plastic offcuts from our porch roof for ther top. The table will
take three of our foam flats. I can take it apart and move it in two pieces. I'm going to start some flats in the next few days.

Looks good Rodger @First_Warrior !!!
Instead of taking it apart to move it ..... why not throw some wheels on the bottom so you can scoot it around!

Raspberries straight from the garden are the best

Wait, you guys purposely plant raspberries?
Don't they overtake everything there?
We don't dare plant blackberries, raspberries, loganberries, salmonberries or spearmint, without having some way to contain it.
Otherwise it takes over everything like a weed.In Fumo Pax

Just heard that a new pepper will be hitting the market soon called "Dragon's Breath". Suppose to be the hottest pepper ever
If anyone knows where I can get some seeds please let me know.

Harvested some garlic from the garden today

Another freakin raised garden.
If I get enough of them, there won't be a lot of grass to deal with.
Blueberries, strawberries and grapes. The trellis is for the grapes.
