Enjoyed my grandson's (6 years old) first soccer game yesterday. He had an assist, and missed a goal, and had two other shots stopped by the keeper.

Rained last night. The county fair was pretty muddy. Couple of days ago I made friends with a 400 [about] pound hog. On the way past our community gardens I cut an over size crookneck squash and took it up to the livestock pens. The hog ate it in 20 seconds and grunted for more. I was early before anyone else showed up. There were over 12 horses, goats, mules, steers, milk cows, chickens, pigs, lamas, strange looking birds, and a large bull. The rides were set up as wells the food courts. All the kids were part of 4-H local clubs and they did most of the tending of the livestock. Only thing lacking was the target shooting booths I remember from my youth. Back then a dollar would buy you 10 .22 shorts and a time with a Winchester pump. They didn't even have a knife or tomahawk throw. But the kids being rural probably shoot and throw at home.

The offial start to bike weekend in tomahawk. They close downtown. To everything but bikesAldo. All weekend. Music burnout competitions kind of our little Sturgis. The bar we are setup at has had live music since Wednesday.there are 3ish more places that do live music all weekend also.

Just the usual amateur cheap fresh water fish, some neon tetras, guppies, swordtails, some kind of gobi, and a few snails to keep the algae in check, and a bunch of plants. 30 gallon tank.

Messed up and put a pair of Oscars in with what I had and it wasn’t long before they killed everything else in the tank including snails.

I kept a 14 inch snapping turtle in the bath tub of an apartment I rented once. Went down to the river and caught bluegills for it . Developed into a pain in the azz and lasted only two weeks. This was in my " Feral" period.

Last couple of two couples of house guest's left this AM. The first couple Liz and Michael travel towing a small trailer making a circuit of old time music get togethers. Liz on fiddle and Michael on guitar. Liz is a retired Customs agent. They live in Albuquerque and seem to be constantly on the move playing music. They stayed three days and played a free gig at a nursing home in Boone while they were here. Known them for over 40 years. After they headed out two days later Alan and Deb arrived. Alan is an electronic nerd and Deb a retired high school art teacher. Their dog named Eva came along. She looked like a little white rat. They crept silently in on one of their Teslas. They live in Mentor Ohio. We had good food and I took each of them on a walk up "Heart Attack Hill" They especially liked coffee made from Peter's famous beans. We have also known them for over 40 years. They stayed for five days. Good food, nice company and a lot of Deb's interaction on art was experienced. I worked my azz off. Alan dug three two foot oaks out of our woods to take back and transplant. Coyotes woke Deb up and I told her the Coyotes would make a meal of Eva if anyone let her out unsupervised as they are known to eat rats.. Alan and Deb are city folks and they don't have Coyotes where they live. I was up at 4:30 every day for Peters famous bean coffee and a robusto in my studio before things got busy.
Can't say I was sorry to see the Tesla pulling away though. We had a good time but we are now fried, well done.9 -

Got the new bikes out today to drag the kids around for a 4 mile ride. It’s mainly woods, but the Dam is the payoff!
